Cheer OP, will sign up for 1m trial.

Prime, I use the the Turkey sign trick Turkish Prime for $0.71/m & the only difference I see are extra Turkish content & some smaller regional shows are missing. Otherwise all major movies/tv shows are available.

Not too impressed with AMC so far. Getting a lots of 500 errors when trying to play titles and oddly on some shows not all episodes show - eg Tales of the Walking Dead (only ep 1 + 2 are available).

I also hope the UI of the apps are improved sometime, very hard to navigate currently

We were about to sign up for Acorn TV so this works out better with more options!  Sad there arent user profiles though. the android TV app seems a bit basic, like Prime Videos app until recently.

Likewise, we were about to subscribe to Acorn in the very near future (actually very good timing). This will do nicely.

After browsing through their line up I won't be subscibing. Their genre is too dark an violent for my taste. I will stick with stand alone Acorn TV

That'll be Shudder, which is also included in the subscription. Shudder is all horror/thriller stuff.

@Stu hmmm interesting, when I look at the AMC site all I see is the blood, gore and horror. I must be doing something wrong. I shall re visit.

I think it lumps it all together. Really messy interface.

You can scroll down and select the Acorn TV channel to view just the Acorn titles :)

100% agree, needs a lot of work.

  1. Limited content.
  2. No categories or brands sorting. Only Movies/TV listings.
  3. Web browser Saved lists are not sync'ed with App(android).
  4. Interface needs more caching. The app often drops my A-Z order for recommended grrrrr....

I definitely won't been continuing my 1m sub but for newbies 7 day trial is sufficient to decide.

was going to sign up for free trial - but this doesn't inspire much confidence in the product.

But I can't find anywhere on their site whether their Android app supports casting to a Chromecast. Does anyone know?

Yep it does, just tested it :)

Regards,
Clint

Great, thanks for checking that!

I'll give the free 1-week trial a go, but sounds like the app is a bit limited at the moment.

The service seems somewhat half baked. The picture quality is not great especially on the Acorn TV content. I will not be using it.
