Re VPN: I used Nord and Argentina and YT Premium now costs me $1.91 NZD/month.

Before switching your Spotify account just remember your Tesla doesn't have YouTube Music support (at-least yet). As WAF is a factor to you from all your previous posts it could be just worth keeping Spotify but using the method above to get YouTube Premium also. That is what I personally do.
Yeah, fair point!
We did think about this prior, and I believed there was a solution: we do have the Tesla premium sub so had planned to use its own Spotify premium account for the car (currently we don't use this, but rather we use a spare account that's part of our Spotify family). While I knew I couldn't use the Tesla Spotify account on other devices, we assumed all we'd need to do is share our own playlists with that account. (Obviously this would be trickier once we moved away from Spotify, if our playlists are maintained in YT Music.) Apart from the issue with maintaining current playlists, would this work in practice?
But, yep, I've signed us up via Turkey; initially tried using India but that won't accept o/s CCs, and my VPN doesn't include Argentina. So at this stage we'll run both parallel and see how it goes before making a final decision; just need to copy Spotify playlists across to YT.
Kinda off-topic, I had Spotify Family (shared between friends before they locked it down to the same address), YT Family (billing via India), and Tesla Premium. I've now cut Spotify and Tesla out when Tesla went through their shoddy 4G connectivity period.
Just run the music off my phone via Bluetooth and run YT Music via there. Still way quicker/easier.
I've also set up an auto-task on the phone to turn on hotspot as soon as the car connects to it via Bluetooth.
For Agrentina, you can just use Nord/Express/Windscribe and sign up for a trial account and just bomb it after you're done.
If you want an alternative to Spotify you can try Apple Music and get a family pass, we migrated from Spotify and the sound quality is superior in every way.
Only con is it is slightly more expensive per month than spotify family.
It also works better on Android as you can chromecast your music unlike the Apple device app which only allows Airplay.
Anyone recently signed up to YT Premium using Argentina?
I've just spent an hour or so trying to sign up to YT Premium via Argentina, without any success.
I have the VPN (TunnelBear) connected to Argentina, I load youtube.com.ar into a fresh browser page, sign into YT and authenticate, see the YT Premium deal of 389 ARS for individual plan, but clicking 'learn more' leads to a blank page. It should be taking me to youtube.com/premium but it just never loads and i just get a blank white page with only a search field at the top.
I have already entered in an Argentinian residential address when first prompted, and I've tried multiple browsers, all with the same issue.
Is this likely a YT issue and they sniffed me out, or is this possibly an issue with the VPN?
Interestingly, connecting VPN to Brazil then going to youtube.com.br does successfully load the Premium page. I forget now how much it was, but it wasn't as cheap as Argentina.
If someone already has an NZ YouTube Premium account, do they need to cancel the sub, go back to the free version, and then attempt to sign up to premium again via VPN to get the cheaper subscription rate? Asking for a friend 😉

The frustrating thing is that YT Premium isn't available for parentally managed Google accounts so I've had to remove this off my eldest kid's account and my younger kid won't be able to use it via his current Google (ie, legit age) account at all. Not sure why this is the case?
Thought it's worth clarifying this: while both the sign-up information and my specific post-joining account information states that YT Premium is only available to the 'adult' YT members in a family group, in practice all members have access including those on managed kids' accounts.
Everyone's enjoying ad-free videos on YT, but none of us has yet bothered switching our music from Spotify. Not sure if it's worth shelling out for an app to copy over playlists (or is someone aware of an unlimited free app that can do this?) but unless we have them on YT we can't really tell if it's a good enough Spotify replacement so in a bit of a Catch 22...

I believe that might be the case. I was in the same boat and canceled my sub, waited out the rest of the sub period and then tried to re-subscribe through a VPN. YT then said I had to move my account to that country (India) before I could get the cheaper price.
@Ruphus: Did you manage to sort this out in the end, ie trying again after being on the free version for a while?
One thing I found from trial and error, and confirmed via some Googling, is that none of my NZ credit or debit cards were accepted when trying to set up via YT India, hence why I ended up using another country - could this be part of the reason why you hit problems with using India?
So if I use some sort of VPN on my PC on home network, sign up to YT premium to get rid of ads, then disconnect, all devices using the same YT account will automatically become premium (I have the same account loaded on phone, ipad, Xbox and apple tvs), they won't need to connect via vpn to get authenticated etc? I loathe the ads but for the time I watch YT I couldn't justify another costly sub

I forgot to mention that unlike YT NZ, YT Argentina doesn't appear to allow payment via PayPal, only Google Pay, c/card and debit card.

Yes. VPN & "auto address generator" is only need during sign up. I've been a YT Premium India subscriber for over 2yr with no issues.

Oh this is good to know, all 4 of the kids are on managed kids accounts. I need to try this next month once my last month of solo youtube premium runs out. They were all at me for Spotify premium so eventually I relented, but I really want my downloads on youtube and no ads, and as a bonus they'll get that too.

@MrBBEye - out of interest, what payment method do you use for YT India? As I mentioned earlier I (and others) have not been able to use credit cards for this, so interested how you overcame this.
