Funnily enough I used offline downloads for the first time ever on the weekend. Had started watching a couple of things while waiting for a no-wifi flight. In general I download a Kindle book before a flight.

I am in the minority where I don't mind ads that much, so I wouldn't pay to remove them. Some of the best products I own or use came from ads.

Downloading for offline viewing is one of the major attractions.

You can always use something like 4Kdownloader for downloading YT videos. Works well

No, there are no free movies on any paid premium YT plan.

Funnily enough, I had run up a VPN to Australia and then completely forgot it was still on after a laptop reboot and got offered the YT Premium Lite offering, which I signed up for at AU$8.99 per month, first month free. Hopefully it will continue.

I did use their original Lite offering until they removed it as an option a while ago.
