Here's the problem I'm seeing on the Amazon Fire TV Stick. It looks like they have not updated the old app with the correct Amazon links.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I get the same on my Fire TV 4K Max (1st gen) but selecting the "Continue" option allows you to carry on using the existing App without an update. Not sure how long this will last.

 

 

 

Casting from my phone to an old Chromecast appears to work ok, but on a Sony tv with Chromecast built in get stuttering and pauses

I am told they are waiting Amazon approval for the app update to be available on Fire TV.

Don't make a mistake entering the code, because you can't go back and edit it even before going to log in.

 

And only their featured selections have big thumbnails now, so harder to see every other item when scrolling sideways from the other side of the room.

 

I feel like all my comments are negative, and they are, but I fail to see a single improvement whatsoever. None of the plethora of problems are balanced out by any fundamentally improved feature anywhere else. The UI changes, though subtle, make it harder to use, the app locking up and various login problems just shouldn't happen, and the total blindness of putting out a press release that says how great it is, rather than acknowledging the issues people are having is pretty poor PR.

 

The 9:16 aspect ratio that seems locked even if you rotate the phone is inexcusable when (almost?) all your content is 16:9, yet that's touted as a great new feature in the media release.

Anyone else having the app not respond to the navigation buttons up/down/left/right or swipe gestures on Apple TV? Having logged in, immediately have to quit the app and restart.

 

And once playing, the picture quality is dreadful. At a guess, 480p at best, perhaps lower.

Can't pause (freeze frame) the actual show any more. It jumps to an ad, and if you close the ad it resumes playing, rather than going back to the still frame of where you paused.

This morning I was getting the message that an update was required on my Fire TV 4K Max Firestick (Gen 1).

 

Several hours later it has gone away (and I have tried a few times to start the TVNZ App).

Hmm....

 

Upgraded both Sony TVs and my Oppo

 

* Codes entered and worked fine

 

* Logged in and continue watching listing was fine and up to date ( admittedly haven't watched anything for a few days )

 

* Video quality a bit crap, changed from Auto to Highest, seems to be back to where it use to be

 

* All controls seem to function as intended - back, pause, exit etc

 

* Chromecast worked fine, slow to kick off, but functioned on

 

 

 

 All my devices are on a clean network, no VPN, no Smart DNS ,no ad blockers, using ISP DNS etc

 

I must be doing something wrong lol

Edit: however the Yes and No on the exit dialog have been swapped around, muscle memory keeps clicking the wrong one
