Hey guys,

I have a new app I have just published to the Google Play Store, called Fit Timer basically a simple Timer app that has a stopwatch, countdown timer, tabata timer etc.  Its not going to change the world.  But I am having a hard time with getting it to even come up and get noticed in the google play store under typical searches.  Its just buried in the thousands of other apps out there.

I know you have to really play with the keywords on the App Title etc which I have been doing but nothing I try seems to make a difference.  I cant even find the app myself in the store without searching for my name, or searching the full app title.

I was wondering if somebody who has experience with this could help point me in the right direction?

Cheers

What are the keywords that apps at the top of the search results use?

What are your current keywords?

Currently my title is "Fit Timer: Workout Timer"

and short description is "Fitness Timer App for all your workouts"

Workout Timer, Fitness Timer are keywords I see most other apps are using

Probably low on the list as there are so many products sharing the same keywords as you.. heck there is already one called Fit Timer.

Best bet would be to get everyone you know to download it and give it 5 stars, I assume the number of downloads and the rating heavily dictate where you are placed in the search results.

I presume it's this one?

You only need to look at app reviews to realise there is also a market for paid ranking on apps the same as paid backlinks. Blackhat SEO and so on to contend with.

Most of the time comments not even related to the apps, or from users able to use the functions of it in their own country.

'very nice' 'thanks' and so on with 5*

Not a review. Just a booster.
