Good morning all smile

I hope you can help me. I just wanted to know if I am on the right path with my ADSL settings on my ASUS DSL-N55U N600 router.
I got the settings from Big Pipe themselves, but the Asus routers interface and naming convention is slightly different here and there.

What do you mean exactly when you say to 'get the most of out your connection'? Happy to help but probably need a bit more info about the physical setup as well if you're talking about speed rather than whether you're able to get online or not :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have a ASUS DSL-N55U N600 router. Line is synced DOWN at 7.103 +-, UP 946+-
Getting  about 6.22MB on speed test to Sparks server.

I had Big Pipe check with Chorus and according to them line itself is healthy.

I just thought as a last check, I wanted someone to look at my router settings and see if I configured everything as correctly and optimally as possible.
I have used Netgear DSL routers and Mikrotik router boards in the past, but this is my first Asus product, so I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thank you

Ps. I do run all test connected to router with CAT5

Sync rate is influenced by your home wiring. Your settings have nothing to do with it. Do you have a master filter?

BTW, it's a good idea to use the Bigpipe DNS servers. If you really want to use Google DNS, note it is 8.8.4.4

I appreciate your reply. Who can I contact and pay to double check the wiring on my property?

I would still like to know whether my settings are in fact correct. I can change multiple values in WAN settings tab and still experience connectivity.
I am merely asking how accurate my settings are currently as seen on the screenshots provided.

Live in Milford, 1 street outside the current UFB area on Forest Hill side.  cry

What effect  does the master filter have? Is there a chance it will have no significant increase in performance?
what sort of costs are related to this type of install?

6.22 for a 7mbit sync isnt bad.

if i remember correctly that asus does show your spectrum which could give some indication of the quality of your line.

snr tweaking is also possible on it, although ild advise against playing with that without taking the time to understand the shortfalls.

Master filter depends on your internal wiring at how much of a benefit it will make, How is your current wiring layout? Multiple jackpoints? Single jackpoint?

I would like to get an idea of what a Master filter install costs.
Maybe its worth a shot even if it does not provide a speed increase, at least I can sleep sound that the wiring inside the house is good.
There are 2 jack points, 1 in kitchen and 1 in bedroom, both running into the roof.

Can someone just give me an idea what CoffeeBaron charges please. :)

150 is his usual rate as per his signature.

If your keen on doing it simply to insure everything is good, that's Absolutely great! IMO everyone should take that position.

Likely would be cheaper and Better Quality control through coffeebarron than getting bigpipe to roll a chorus tech out to you.

Ild send him a PM see what he can do for ya.

If you can connect your settings are correct. If you set it wrong you won't be able to connect. :)
