I have an order in for UFB (yay!) and am just thinking through what I will need to get.
Obviously I need to source my own router - and Bigpipe have a couple of recommendations on their site:

2 Routers we know work well on UFB are:

    • TP-Link Archer C2.
    • Netcomm NF8AC.

I plan to port my landline number to 2talk when the time comes.
I know I can buy a separate ATA to hook my old landline phone up to - but ideally an all-in-one router that has great wifi (dual band), Gigabyte speed with a phone socket on it would be really good. Less boxes and power supplies cluttering the place.

Anyone know of such a beast?

I have been doing some homework and it looks like the Huawei HG659 is actually quite an ideal bit of kit, but the VOIP ports are locked to Vodafone (found several on trademe) - it doesnt seem the phone ports can be unlocked either.

I have the HG659 and as long as you flash the Spark firmware, you can use any VoIP provider, (I also use 2talk) and it works okay, although I do find the need to reboot the router very few weeks, else gaming via xbox live doesn't work, doesn't connect to game sessions (which my son then throws his toys about...) any advise on that issue greatly appreciated.

Good to know - you can get an HG659 cheaply enough.
I understand the wifi coverage is pretty good on these boxes as well.
