Good News Hamiltron!

We know a lot of you have been waiting a while for this one, so we're thrilled to announce that Bigpipe UFB is now available in the City of the Future, today!

It's currently invite-only, so we thought we'd invite any Hamilton Geekzoners with an ONT already installed to jump on board before we roll it out officially. If you've got an ONT, we'll give you first two months with us free on any fibre plan you want. We like our existing customers just as much as new ones, so you can get this offer even if you're an existing Bigpipe customer.

If you don't already have fibre installed, watch this space - we will be updating our website soon with the ability to sign up for Bigpipe fibre for Hamilton, and selected Waikato addresses.

If you want to upgrade from Bigpipe ADSL/VDSL to UFB, just drop our team a message through our website (enter an address and a live chat window will pop up) and we can kick off the process for you. Let them know you've seen this thread and you want to sign up for Bigpipe UFB. They'll sort out the rest.

All the plans are as per our normal UFB pricing

$79 for 100/20

$99 for 200/20

$129 for 200/200

All the other Bigpipe Cool Stuff still applies - unlimited data with no throttling or traffic management, no term contracts, BYO router (no need for VLAN tagging unless you want it) and amazing online support so you never wait on hold. Get amongst it!

[EDIT] Just a heads up: due to a couple of teething troubles with UFF, we're taking registrations of interest for this at the moment, rather than full-blown provisioning. Provisioning is not far away, but we're advised that, once it is up and running, at this point in time it'll take about two weeks to provision new Hamilton customers on to fibre. Keep an eye on this thread for updates!

Good news. Do you mean to say that if someone wanted to move right now that it would still be 2 weeks away?

Yup, at minimum. This is to do with how we're having to do the provisioning process for UFF connections at the moment.

Even if the person has the ONT there and active?

Yes. UFF have a 2 week backlog on all their provisioning orders so even if you have an ONT, it'll (likely) take 2 weeks to get connected.

The other thing we're waiting on is that we need UFF to shift to provisioning Bigpipe connections with VLAN tagging *off*. This shouldn't be a major but unfortunately there's nothing we can do about the provisioning backlog.

Once Hamilton becomes fully active does that mean the greater Waikato with places like Cambridge also become active? (If they already had UFB).
