UFB switched to available on the chorus network upgrade map and business broadband map checking site a couple weeks ago, and within a day or so shows as UFB available to order from VF, orcon, 2degrees and slingshot on their respective address checkers.

Bigpipe is showing UFB is unavailable still

How long is it going to take before you are up to date with the other ISPs? my mate was going to switch from Orcon VDSL to Bigpipe UFB but cant order.

a random address within the section that just went UFB live is 8 brookwood drive, henderson, auckland

thanks.

If your mate knows UFB is available at their address, they can put in an order via ticket (I'm not sure how that would work with the referral credit, though.)

As for how long, it looks like their data is at least 30 days out of date: the Chorus site has shown fibre available at our address since the 7th of last month, and the Bigpipe website still does not.

I ordered UFB from Bigpipe last year as soon as it showed up on a competitors site.

If another ISP can provide UFB then Bigpipe can as well.

Just send Bigpipe an email.

Would obviously be a good thing though if they kept their service maps up to date though - they may find some people potentially put off to not find availability at their homes.

there's been a recent delay with getting our address checker fully up to date - adding in other LFCs increases the complexity and changes the process quite a bit so it hasn't been updated in about 6 weeks or so.

However, the good news is that you don't need it to be up to date to sign up.  As others have suggested, just send our team a message through the site and we can get the order processed properly (including if you have a referral from someone else)

We're about to put in place a process which will keep it much more up to date - should be updated every fortnight.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Hi Bigpipe

thanks for the above my friend got signed up with you that way and his fibre is installed

I just signed up myself yesterday for UFB, same problem not showing in your address checker, but does on Chorus, i signed up same as my mate above did, signed up with ADSL so could use promo codes etc,

then had you change it to 200/200 UFB with VLAN10 tagging requested (by Mitchell)

today i got a big email order progress email about ENABLE consents, my address i signed up in is Henderson, Auckland, its a Chorus area not ENABLE, whats gone wrong here? Can you have a look please?

dont really want any delays from the start...

thanks

I've encountered this, but upon querying Bigpipe on it they still cant get me connected with Fibre.

I suspect its because they haven't installed the necessary network hand-off? equipment at the exchange?

Auckland UFB is Chorus, ENABLE is not involved at all, either they have put in the wrong address for me when they changed my order, or sent the email by mistake instead of the Chorus version

found it.   Looks like we just sent you the wrong email template, sorry about that.  It's definitely placed with Chorus, not Enable.

No consent required either (at least, Chorus don't think so), although it is 'non-standard', so it's currently at 'network design' phase. Hopefully won't be too long to get you hooked up  - maybe a few weeks.

cheers

non standard? havent heard that term before this is like my 12th install for customers etc, whats does it refer to?

mine should be as standard as it gets, no shared anything, freehold single house with own driveway,

Fibre on the road is about 6 metres away from where the ONT needs to be installed, right behind the existing demark, easiest install ever!

Given what you say, could be that it means some extra build is required at the cabinet before they can start doing the install.

would be surprised if thats the case, often talk to the contractors outside got them to teach me a few things, the main fibre jiggy for street is accross the road underground, - shuld have asked its proper name -

they last told me a month ago everything was done they were just fixing a couple faults they found in testing, then would be signed off ready to go live.
