Hey all,

Just got some lovely BP internet connected and it runs nice. Im a bit broke for a master filter just now so when i get $17 spare ill go grab one so i dont get as many lost packets..

But my main question, Does DLM still run? I have had the net for 5 days now and not a single DLM re sync has occurred. Usually we see one every night for 7-10 days at 3AM or something.

I'm definitely on DLM one tho, There is no added delay to local sites <10ms.

yes and why would it need to resync your line if you are on DLM1 and not showing signs of errors or instability?

It also never use to do it every night, mine did it 3 times in the first 10 days when I got VDSL.

Fair enough, My observations when i had VDSL a year ago was every night from DLM 2 with all the INP and delays to DLM 1 in 4 days. Seemed to start on DLM1 which was strange, Cant tell on this model whther im on 8b or 17a but id say 8b. (CBF with console)

you are on 8b as that's normally 70/15ish max 17a will be 60-70/20-30 or if you are lucky and on a boardcomm line card 100/50

I believe it now starts on DLM1 and goes backwards rather than going forwards

I've been growing some master filters for quite a while:

Flick me your address and I'll send some out to you.

What sort of seed grows that crop! how often do they replicate?

Normally master filters are a direct offshoot of somebody getting UFB installed - also, Chorus installing more than one master filter (have seen this happen on 5+ occasions when I worked for another company) or just plugging a master filter into a patch panel on a business install.

Seen some shocking things - so clean up the install and take excess master filters away ;)
