I ordered a fibre plan with Bigpipe last week, and was very impressed with how smooth the process was. Bigpipe support quickly got in touch with me confirming my order, and offered to switch me to Bigpipe ADSL while waiting for the fibre install. I replied saying that I wanted to stay with my current provider until fibre was installed, and got a reply confirming that.

However this morning my internet and landline both stopped working, and when I contacted my current provider I was informed that the line has been taken over by Bigpipe. To make things worse, I don't seem to be connected on Bigpipe as well, as I am unable to get a connection even after changing my modem settings to Bigpipe's ADSL settings. I attempted to log into my Bigpipe account on the android app but was told that I am not a current customer of Bigpipe. I have contacted Bigpipe support by email, but have yet to receive a reply after 4 hours (despite the promised 2 hour response time). Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do now?

This sounds pretty strange; when a customer doesn't want a temporary ADSL connection and just wants to wait for fibre to be installed then the existing line will be left as is (fibre and copper are ordered from two different Chorus portals).

Feel free to PM me your email address and I'll get someone to have a look for you.

you might as well go hunting for unicorns, a better chance of getting one of them.

Honestly my previous ISP (Flip) has been really good about this. Only spent 15 minutes on hold with them this morning which I guess counts as win by ISP standards. Update on my situation: internet and landline have both returned. I am able to make calls, so it seems I am still with Flip. Not quite sure what is going on now...

2degrees and Spark are both pretty good answering the phone.

RunningMan: Not just snow bringing the line down somewhere?

Everything is back to normal now so it seems that might be the case. Not sure why Flip told me that the line was taken over by Bigpipe though.

If you call over an hour on hold with spark good, I don't think so.
