Ive had a spout with my health and due to a LOT of inflammation my thyroid has spat the dummy.

Im drinking Turmeric Tea, but the Holistic Dr said 3mg of fish oil a day.

I also eat sardines or wild salmon 3-4 times a week.

But if anyone knows the best brand of capsules Id be stoked.

have a look around healthpost.co.nz, I've always found the brands they stock to be really good, and often cheaper than the shops even when you put postage into it

I generally order from the USA, Vitacost. Delivery US$10 for a decent sized box in a couple of weeks. If that's all you want it's probably not economic. In that case I buy whatever odourless version is on special at Health 2000.

DPA is for the Brain and EPA is for inflammation etc? I know Im being very generic here, or I have it around the wrong way?

I saw GO 2000mg in the chemist. Is it all pretty much equal?

I considered the Ethical Nutrients liquid version as I have a compromised digestion due to medications.

Cheers all

It's not all equal. Someone did a report last year, have a read of the media coverage, but I don't think full results were released.

You will have far better results with a pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory than any natural therapy (and good peer reviewed science back that up in terms of efficacy and safety).

I find Naproxen is a miracle anti-inflammatory. It's not very common in this part of the world, but is available over the counter and is very well tolerated.

Not to cast aspersions on your holistic doctor, but are you also pursuing "traditional" medical advice?

Hypo and Hyper thyroidism are bad news - which can be well treated with appropriate medical treatment.

When you live your life on Twitter and Facebook, and are only friends with like minded people on Twitter and Facebook, you are not living in the real world. You are living in a narcissistic echo chamber.

My thoughts are my own and are in no way representative of my employer.

Yeah i do use anti inflammatories for pain, but with a compromised gut I just cant.

This is more a holistic approach at reducing antibodies, its not the be all and end all Im not that holistically nuts lol. A good solid diet like Terry Wahls who went from MS to riding horses again, being a scientist she created a mitochondria repair diet. I dont buy into all of it, but there is a lot of good in fruit and veg and my digestion doesnt handle red meat well or fats like cheese (oh i miss cheese).

So this is more supplemental query on quality rather than opinion of efficacy if I may ask to stay on topic.

Cheers

My goodness GG thats some POTENT ship right there, knocks the socks of ethical nutrients. Ultra high in both EPA/DPA./

How long have you used and have you ever felt any difference in using fish oil?
