Hi

Ive been told by local stores (Rolleston) new world supermarket and count down that

they no longer will supplie AIM original toothpaste which I used for 20 years

and find better then its newer flavours...

that they cant get it anymore as not enough demand for it. although its still made.

its like big brands taking over? telling customers too bad pick a new big brand

product instead?

cant find any online store that sells it either

but plenty in australia.

also ENO.. lemon is only one can buy and its reacts with me.. and like the original only

been trying to source it out my way for over 1 year now.

It's just toothpaste. Just switch to another brand. You'll get over it.

My pick would be it's either been de-ranged due to poor sales or the distributor has pulled it from NZ. Have you asked them?

I've never liked the taste of AIM. I always found it funny that a toothpaste needed to have an artificial sweetener in it!

It really depends why the product has been removed. If it's been de-ranged from the store or from the DC then emailing a store isn't going to do anything.

At the end of the day supermarkets have finite shelf space - they can't carry every product in existence, and ranging decisions need to be made for products if they are a poor seller. Without knowing the reason why this product was removed it's very difficult to comment further.

As somebody who spent 30 years of my life in the supermarket industry I'd strongly disagree.

I'm guessing you haven't done the obvious thing and called Pental to ask what's happening?

I suspect that technology/chemistry has improved over the years - have you even tried?

Protest all you like but you can't buy what isn't available...and I seriously doubt a few hundred (if you are lucky) emails or a petition will make a jittery-jot of difference.

"Give in to the big brands"? - products change over time, I doubt it's a world conspiracy to deprive you of your favourite toothpaste.  You're taking the mickey...aren't you??

Aim may not be a big 'brand' but Pental are a huge player in the FMCG space with Sunlight, Lux and Janola just to name a few.

I often think to myself "Why do I even bother visiting Geekzone?" and then I stumble on a thread like this and I'm mad for doubting myself.

Re OP

I buy my toothpaste from Amazon because they don't stock it in NZ. It costs less even after shipping.
