I feel for you. Every day I thank the powers that be that I have hair. If it was me I'd give something a try.

I use clippers with blade only for a number 0. I highly recommend growing a beard. Life is too short to worry about hair. Take your hairdresser money and add it to your Kiwi Saver or mortgage - you’ll have the last laugh.

That's sucks, I'm a few years older than you and would hate to lose my hair. My brother is 29 and is gradually losing his hair. He's lucky he suits a shaved head.

This isn't a recommendation, just thought I'd post it because it's cool. I imagine the daily process of applying and removing it would become very annoying and costly.

I thought bald men were supposed to be the most virile.

Flaunt your baldness, you might get lucky.

It may also mean you are aging faster too, so look forward to things like early cardiovascular failure.

So here is a trick to do

Propecia cost a bit to get (like $90+ a month) however if you go to the doctor you can ask for finasteride tablets (5mg) and cut them into 1/4's to have each day, total cost for 3 months is around $20.

Propecia is just finasteride (1mg) tablets :P

Been doing this for a few years now and my hairdresser can't work out why my hair is so strong and i no longer have hair falling out in the shower after washing it  :P.

Great tip, however i dont have a doctor ( touchwood ) , so any advise on how i can get it,

can i get it online like this : https://www.netpharmacy.co.nz/products/ricit-finasteride-5-mg

pls help ! thanks heaps :)

As noted on the website "Prescription Medicine"

You need a doctor to get it

One thing to note, hair loss can be linked to heart problems:

Depends on the pattern of baldness.

I am starting to recede, have considered some options. I will likely go and look more next year when I am not busy. The 3 people I care most about what I look like, don't mind at all, I guess that is something.

I do have quite a short cut, usually 1-3

I can understand your concerns though. Geekzoners won't care if you lose your hair though, we will love you just the same.

Have a Safe and Happy Holidays!

Thats a little Illegal Graham, Any doctor can prescribe you this. Call the local doctors clinic and book in to see a doctor. You will need to fill out basic forms but they will be able to assess you and give you a prescription if needed.

Cheers

I have never been checked in terms of my heart before but I have reason to believe I do have poor circulation and have had a few weird spasms from what felt like my heart but always came right after a few minutes.

Just remember to read up about finasteride, it takes a while to kick in.  Also some people report its a "mood" killer *wink wink* if you know what i mean.  But so is marriage from what i hear...........

I'm the exact same. My hair has been receding since I was about 17 (If you can remember what I look like Tim - haha). Tried telling myself it didn't bug me, did Finesteride (Propecia) for like 4 years but got terrible side effects so I stopped that.

I decided it was bothering me enough so I'm getting a FUE transplant over in Sydney in January to sort the receding out for a couple more years. Wouldn't touch Ashley and Martin with a barge pole if I was you, bunch of sales people who just put 99% of people on Propecia + Rogaine and if that doesn't work, glue on a hairpiece.

I'll let you know how the FUE goes in a couple of months. At $7,000, I think it might just be worth it for confidence-sake.

Mate of mine used to say, when he first started going bald, "we're all born with the same amount of hormones. If you want to waste yours growing hair that's your concern".

I started to lose mine around the same age.

Just don’t worry about it. Those pills and potions don’t work. :-)

Your cranium has just outgrown your hair :-D
