Free prescriptions no big deal. The welcome surprise was an unfunded prescription item 15% cheaper than anywhere else I've been. Including Countdown which was hopeless shortly after opening.

While there I saw Oral B toothbrushes for $23. No Phillips unfortunately.

Pocket buzzer to page you when it's ready. Big store easy to spend 10 min wandering around. Like anyone I expect them to increase prices when they've killed off the competition. In the meantime it's a big improvement..

Cheap for body wash / shampoo etc.

The likes of Life Pharmacy's loyalty schemes / mall locations can be convenient, but they add to their cost of doing business... and that needs to be recovered through higher pricing, hence their focus on cosmetic sales.

One thing to keep in mind when browsing their brochures is that many "too good to be true" looking prices come with a caveat, which in my case was a buy limit of 1 .

Have bought from Chemist Warehouse in Aussie for a few years. Both when visiting, and also ordering via their website. Happy they're now in NZ and have been to the St Luke's shop and the one in Manukau.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Hope they are intending to expand out of Auckland, however I can see the concept of free prescriptions hurting small chemist operators

There's another chemist shop in my area that does almost nothing except free prescriptions and passport photos. Has done for years. That's not a bad business model for the area and probably won't be affected. That one is miles from my doctor.

Would have been a two hour wait there today to get my post wisdom tooth extraction necessities, today I was happy to pay the prescription fees at my normal.

Hope that's because time of year, if not I'll be going else where to, not worth two hour wait.

Lucky you, here in the regions we're stuck with $5 per item (until you reach the magic number), so husbands prescription is $100 first off.

We were in Auckland.....sigh.

Everything costs more in the regions, food, rates, tradesmen, haven't found anything cheaper yet.

Saw them in Australia and have seen their advertising in sports games.
Didn't know they were actually in New Zealand; however many things are probably in Auckland that never make it out of Auckland and if they do, they never cross Cook Strait

There's a fair number of NZ based pharmacies offering free prescriptions with free shipping. Although I'm not inclined to use one personally.

I had a closer look. I believe I mistook free delivery for free prescription in search results the first time. These guys have the highest rank for many 'free' related terms:

Maybe not free prescription in practice tho. Sorry about that!

$100 @ $5 per item?? 20 separate things in one order? If all DHBs are same the magic number is 20 year ending Jan 31st so hopefully your prescription was filled in Feb leaving rest of year free.
