And my wife wonders why I won't have mine done!!!

Man, I hope you recover quickly...it really did make my eyes water - but I also was mildly amused at the constant use of the word "scrotum" on a generally tech-oriented forum...I know...what am I, 12?

I got the mrs snipped half way through the cesarean so avoided all this drama.  The kids were her idea after all.

That sounds like a terrible way to talk about your wife, like she is a piece of property or an animal.

Even though he put it loosely, some ladies who give birth via cesarean are only able to do it once or would never ever want to have it again so they generally make the educated decision to get the snip. Live a little and take a joke, Seems last months events have softened the masses and PC has gone mad.

Nuts, balls, sack, bollos, jewels, ballbags, tbag are nicknames and I think you will find Scrotum is the correct word. I am not getting your point. Are you saying we are being immature for calling it correctly??

@blackjack17 Pretty sure from the recoil of reading that story my body self rigged... Sorry to hear, at least you get to walk like a cowboy I suppose...

Nope - I am pretty sure I am being immature for being thoroughly amused by the frequent use of the word scrotum...although you missed the classic "Clackers" from your list...

Hahahaha, Yeah I also see the humorous part of that when you say it like that. Just had to mumble the word to have a giggle. You caught me red handed.

Yes Clackers is one before my time!

Yikes!!!! Although I can also add that mine, while some years ago, also went just fine.

On the other hand, having just spent four days in hospital myself, I concur with "doctors are not good at communicating". Got told conflicting things depending on who I saw on what day. Whereas the nurses were great. Even the really busy guy who was the triage nurse in ED. I arrived 11:30pm on a Saturday night, which is obviously the best time to encounter drunk and drugged up people with issues caused by themselves, as opposed to those of us with a sudden medical emergency.

I commented on the doctor vs nurse patient communication in the post-hospitalisation survey I got sent.

Most friends of mine went to Dr Margaret Sparrow. Having done about 7000 procedures she was fairly practiced.

Rather than going to ED, you could have fixed it yourself. I refer, of course, to the infamous "scrotal self-repair" article. Google it, and see if you can read right through without wincing or retracting.

[snip - oops, inappropriate term in this context!]

Seems last months events have softened the masses and PC has gone mad.

The first words of that post were 'I got the mrs snipped...'

I know for sure that if I wrote about my wife in that way in a public forum she would (rightfully) be upset and p!ssed with me.

Batting clearly sexist and belittling statements like that away with trite lines like 'PC gone mad', or simply intimating it's a meaningless bit of fun, is indeed part of a much bigger problem whereby the line of what's acceptable behaviour towards fellow humans is now so eroded we can essentially say what we like and then claim it's just a joke, and therefore the problem is with those taking offence. That's a slippery slope, in which there are indeed parallels to be drawn with what happened in Chch two weeks ago.

Oh My!  I need to get mine done under general, and my date is the 30th April ... so this post is possible about 30 days too early for my liking!

I hope you a speedy recovery!

You made my point for me. At the end of the day, confirmation bias will always thrive in the easily impressionable.

Condescending much?!

In that vein, I get that you've got the confidence of youth, but methinks that also plays a part in your own apparent inability to understand that sometimes a cigar is not just a cigar.

I got mine done in 2015 during the cricket world cup. Had it down in the morning so I could spend the afternoon at home recuperating while watching the BlackCaps (20/2/15 - Blackcaps beat England at the Stadium). I planned it well :)

My only issue was child related, in that I had to make sure I didn't get hit in the nuts while playing with the kids.

blackjack17:

... it was the size of a grapefruit.  Doctor said you have to apply pressure to it for as long as you can and put me on morphine so I could handle the pain of squeezing my grapefruit size scrotum (but this stage it is also black with bruising).

"Hahaha! Nice one, doc! Hahahahahha, April Fool's! Right? Right? No? Why don't you squeeze my nut then, doc!"

blackjack17:

Got released this morning and finally got home with a drip out of my black swollen scrotum.

Yeah... nahh.
