Sideface:

... and when politics and COVID interact ...

...

Could be non political demographic factors at play too.

Initially the hard hit locations where the major cities that see a lot of international arrivals, public transport use etc. Such as new york.

Over time the virus has traveled to less visited rural USA which tends to lean GOP.

Ok, unfortunately but expected our city is back in business. We now approach 50 new infections per 7 days per 100.000 inhabitants in the second wave.

And here we go:

- Curfew for restos and bars from 23:00 to 5:00.

- Not more than 10 people from max. 2 households at home.

- No commercial accommodations for people from other hotspot areas outside city limits.

- Mandatory mask wearing on certain outdoor spots as well.

- No more public events for more than 100 people outdoors, 50 people indoors - sale of alcohol halves the relevant amount even further.

Mortality has dramatically reduced but due to statistics. Younger (party) people are much more affected now due to their habits and even more and intense testing. Nevertheless the ICUs are getting more 'clients' again.

The good news: The first vaccination test phase has started a few days ago at the renowned university medical center. *Info*

If you rather prefer the Russian 'Sputnik' vaccination you don't have to ensure anything :-)

A new CT case. Tested on 16 Oct when had symptoms, all contacts now isolated, so hopefully will be a short, small outbreak.

LOL. I was only saying to someone last night, that I wouldn't be surprised to see a new CT case the day after the election.

When are the conspiracy theories going to start on this one? (They knew about it the day before but kept it secret so it wouldn't cut into the PM's vote.)

Given the structure of coastal shipping with offshore crews, crew changes and stuff its a tricky point of vulnerability.

""
The man had worked on two ships docked in Auckland and Taranaki. One had also travelled to Lyttleton and Napier, and although no crew were showing symptoms, all needed to be cleared before they could step ashore.
""
The union's national secretary, Joe Fleetwood, said the risk of having international ships carry domestic freight between all of the country's ports had been raised by the union repeatedly.

"Right now nearly all of our domestic sea freight is carried by international ships running international crews who are not covered by New Zealand law," he said.

"Influencer Dmitriy Stuzhuk Dead Of Coronavirus After Telling Followers It Wasn't Real"

"As you all know from stories, I am sick with coronavirus. Today, after returning home, for the first time there was an enthusiasm for at least writing something. I want to share how I got sick and convincingly warn everyone: I also thought that there was no covid... Until I got sick."

Dmitriy explained he took a CT scan, and was later "prescribed treatment and began to insist on hospitalization."

"This is another story, because now there are renovations going on, the hospital is completely filled with people, some of them live in the corridor," he explained. "There is no food, no paper, no cutlery either! Nobody warned me about this."

She revealed that the fitness star had problems with his cardiovascular system. "His heart is not coping," she expressed at the time. "His state is extremely grave. No one can do anything with this."

Shortly after, he passed away.
