Perhaps try healthline and see if you can request they make a GP booking on your behalf as higher risk instead?

A lot of people seem to have got a little excited about knowing the source - yes that's great, but we still don't know how it got out of MIQ, or how patient A got infected. There are still potentially a lot of links to be uncovered yet.

Also a lot of people who seem to be blaming the TT bubble despite the fact this was a red flight with MIQ not quarantine free travel

Mask how-to and how-not

Just don't get too pedantic about it. Handling a mask incorrectly is still much much better than not wearing a mask at all.

Health line havnt picked up when we rang. On hold for hours. We’ve rung our GP and they don’t do tests , and other GPS we rang said no. Maybe we’ll try ringing again.

Ah well. Frustrating that doing the right thing is turning out to be difficult, but it is what it is

Maybe head along to the Testing place an hour before you know they are going to close. You will only be there a couple of minutes before someone comes along and tells you if you won't be seen today or an hour max if the don't. At least you have done the waiting in the comfort of your own home.

I feel quite sorry for your situation, that does suck. Have you tried all of the locations listed here as taking tests for non-patients? https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/covid-19/north-auckland/?options=anyone

I note there is also a pop up testing station in Narrow Neck. I’m unsure what your transport situation is like, but I have found QuayMed near Britomart to be excellent for tests in the past, and they will take anyone. Arguably it may be a little far from home given we’re in AL4 but you clearly have circumstances that might require some flexibility.

Edit: I assume you’re in the North Shore based on having been to LOIs but that website does list locations nationally.

Albeit true, you would expect the ones that have thousands, nee, millions of watchers would be leading by example. As the medically trained person in the same conference did. Not exactly John down the road who lives on his own cocking it up and not many noticing.

If I recall last year we had flashcards and short videos bashed about during the period they were pushed as reminders.

Can see why supermarkets are cleaning trolleys for you as you enter rather than leave it up to joe bloggs.

Here in VIC you can see the estimated wait time for each testing location on the Dept of Health website. Last week I had a test - my nearest centre was a 90 minute wait but one a bit further away was no wait so I went there. Helps to spread load around quite well.

Sounds like the queue signs at Disneyland :)

Looking at some of the images and changes today, I expect there is loading of carparks with multiple lanes to stop road blockages. And Filtering down to less drive-bays than lanes at the choke.

And we all know how bad kiwis merge!

David Seymour keeps taking jabs at how bad he thinks the current leadership is doing it, Suggesting mass drive through vaccination centres should be stood up. He must forget that each one done requires a 20min stand time. And in their cars, that's a lot of ground space and resources to police it required. "Excuse me my partner is seizing".. 'one moment sir, the team are 500m away and moving as fast as they can'. Think the AKL bussed in lanes. But a LOT longer.

There is a reason they did it at Disneylands multiple carparks.

9 hours in the queue, and turned away just now.  3rd day of trying.  She's sick, and has been in the stores listed of places of interest on the same day but not the same times.  She's gutted.  There's a limit, this is probably it.  Our local facebook group had a bunch of people in the same queue posting snaps and saying they're not sick but just checking.

Totally gutted.

Damn... thats not good enough.

It won't make any difference anyway. No one pays attention to that sort of thing, just getting general compliance is the best you can hope for.

We've been wearing masks here for over a year, the messaging has changed from being pedantic to just general compliance.

Yup

And one of the new health orders today, Was if you are in a household of a close contact. You're now also trapped for 5 days. And tested, and not released until negative.

I reallly hope people take heed of that. They're not taking any chances with the inter-household spreads. But is going to be so easily broken by someone visiting pals or extended families who then could

They're working so flawlessly in Melbourne they've opened up another 3 this week. No Disneyland sized carparks..

Not sure why you think we couldn't be doing that here.
