My vaccination booked for tomorrow is cancelled - just got the email saying the vaccination centre will be closed. So I've rebooked for early October. Might have got a new appointment in late September if I'd shopped around for a different vaccination centre, but less convenient for public transport and no guarantee that will be open on that day anyway.

Have you checked around local GP clinics & pharmacies in your area. Many are now providing vaccinations and often have times available earlier.

Below are appointments currently showing as available for the week commencing 5 Sept on the H365 website for our local GP clinic.

I think I'd be shopping around to see where I could get it sooner than later.

because they are not sure if there is wild non delta in AKL

where as they are quite sure (unless there is new evidence) there is defnitely only 3 people with delta in wtg

By my count, as of today, there must be at least 4 in Wellington. There's the couple that travelled by car, and there's two flight's that are now LOI.

P.S. I don't think we can be sure of anything at this stage.

I said they :)

But that's just a guess using risk evaluation as mentioned by someone else

I really feel for Uni students who are having to isolate in the halls of residence only allowed to leave tiny little rooms for the bathroom.

If only school cohorts weren't magically after a period of good compliance, seemingly considered a bubble of their own that no longer needed to follow public transport precautions huh.

4 Days and counting and my wifes result isn't back yet!

Similar here too. My 15yo son tested on Wednesday and still waiting for his result. He has flu like symptoms.

Hopefully in both cases no news is good news.

I would expect most of them went home or to where ever they go during the holidays. Otherwise yes it wouldn't be an experience I'd be wanting to have, thinking back to hostels from my younger days.

People who attended a Bayleys Realty conference at Spark Arena on Friday, August 13, will no longer need to isolate.

The event, which was attended by about 1000 people, has been removed from its list as a location of interest by the Ministry of Health.

It was initially put on the list after a bar worker at the event later tested positive for the virus.

That's something I guess. At least a few thousand less people to queue up tomorrow if they see it.

And the Petrol stations and Pee stops are finally added

do you have patient portal?

https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/digital-health/other-digital-health-initiatives/patient-portals

Patient portals give people convenient and secure electronic access to their  health information, increasing their ability to manage their own health care

Portals can allow patients to:

  • see their lab results

Also things happened rapidly and a huge number of folks seeking tests.

Yes things happened rapidly, but you should have been prepared for that. You were not.

The same has happened everywhere when outbreaks start.  I don't know the process, but I'd expect that reagents and the test kits themselves have shelf life limitations, so it's probably not simple to ramp up to maximum capacity overnight.

NZ police are saying on Facebook you cannot drive somewhere to exercise, which is contrary to what the legislation says. It’s confusing a lot of people.

I think the legislation is meant to be inferred as - drive somewhere within your neighbourhood if you want, or further if you don’t have anywhere near you that is suitable (I.e if you’re in an apartment you can drive to a park?)

They should probably tweak the wording to make it clearer.

Edit: NZ police updated the post to remove the driving mention.

Singapore will pilot quarantine-free travel lanes for vaccinated passengers next month from Germany and Brunei and open up to visitors from Hong Kong and Macau in its first big move yet to lift border restrictions that have been in place since early in the pandemic.

It was about as loose as this. And how I like to think other people would look at it also.

Their initial response was as I put a few pages back.. Considered 'within walking distance' - to me that says if the need to still use transport was required (say mustering a tribe was difficult)

But many still take the micky with bikes on the back. Kids and dog in the car (seen a few of those) or 3-4up with the doggo. Fairly sure they're not out to shop or head to exercise when this area has a park and tracks in each subdivision.

Last year we had people coming to play basketball and tennis at the local community venue by car. One day Mr Plod stopped in. That was the end of that.
