Has anybody seen or heard of any malls enforcing vaccine passes for entry?

I assumed some would because it would be a lot easier than those retailers who are required to have them needing to check, as well as for their food courts.

The problem with that would be the malls with supermarkets and chemists in, you cant stop people visiting those places even if unvaccinated.

I'm fully aware of that and discussed this earlier a few pages up in the thread - they need to provide dedicated access to basic facilities within the mall if they opt to use them.

Went to Northlands today in Christchurch.

Nothing.

Saw a Maki Mono(Sushi joint) doing vaccine passes but didn't ask me or my fiancée to see them. Did sight someone else's however.

Velvet Burger is seeing and verifying EVERYONES. If you don't have one you get told to jog on essentially. Even uber drivers getting caught.

So basically most places not following rules, ( most places especially referring to mall environments) and no enforcement action being taken.

Govt makes rules, and then it’s a do as you like.

Yet another Saturday, yet another pointless protest - especially selfish (IMO) this time around as retailers are trying to get back up and running, only to have to deal with this nonsense. Did Brian organise this one? He didn't show up...is he in jail yet?

Today's rally was promoted online as the "Mass Exodus". Great, maybe this moronic lot can leave and go where there are no coronavirus controls in place and the pandemic rages out control. Maybe somewhere like that is more to their liking.

Why do you want to chase away business / slow down your ability to do business after 111 days locked out of business?

I'm not saying it's right, but this is what it is.

Perhaps a PURGE is what is needed. One or two months of high infection rates (Omicron will help with that) and then, once it's swept through the community, we are back to normal. Vulnerable people can take precautions so they don't get it, and these antivaxes can catch a "cold" and be done with it. True, the "cold" is going to kill a lot of the but meh.

Given these clowns believe they can force the Governor General to dissolve parliament and dismiss a sitting Prime Minister,  they will be high on the watch activities of the NZ.S.I.S

This will include Brian Tamaki's forensic electronic footprint monitoring.

His current handling by the courts will have a security intelligence context. Therefore it is not surprising that he has been given a lot of tolerance under the Judiciaries discretionary powers.

National security overrides the Criminal Justice act in as much as it is an overarching legal frame work allowing for resilience in dealing with potential and actual threats.

Number two on the list of risks under National security is the risk to Sovereignty.

Pandemics are included and stated in the legislation under the National security paradigm of "all hazards - all risks" adopted by Cabinet in 2001.

How these protests, and Mr Tamaki are managed by the courts will have a monitoring context. I am not surprised that he has not been jailed yet.

I am not going to state it explicitly but anyone can join those dots.

Seems that way which is a pity. Then who will whine when the traffic lights stay red?

Personnally i guess ill treat everyone else as an idiot, patronise the businesses that follow the rules and dob in those that don't.

I get that, but my feel is MOST of us do the deed. I did that today but alas, no news media article on me. Not even requests for an autograph. Squeaky Wheel Syndrome.

To favour economics over health. A "prominent" new leader suggested AKL goes to green as they have done 111 days in lockdown. Therein lies the issue. Economics or votes. Reminds me of 14 days after 26 March

HelloThere:

I know it is meant to be somewhat humorous, however there are plenty of morons who take that stuff at face value and use it to fuel their nefarious intentions. Not having a go, I have a sense of humor too.

The worker who is on one jab is contact traceable through their place of work, if it becomes a place of interest, it is in an industry that likely uses a booking system, and people are meant to be scanning. If the worker is the index case, they are somewhat of a stationary point rather than someone hoping from shop to shop. Clearly the intent is that they will be fully vaccinated in time.  Again this means that under the traffic lights their contacts can be readily traced.

Meeting up in the supermarket, well social distancing applies, almost no transmission has occurred in this setting, unlike the other scenarios with close contact like hairdressing etc.

Yes, but if the govt requires something it needs to be enforced. Wonder how many business would pay tax if it wasn’t enforced. If they are not going to enforce the traffic light system, then way bother making laws for it’s operation in the first place. I don’t like that saying “It is what it is”, it seems a cop out statement for something is wrong but nothing is going to be done about it.

That's what I've been saying since it was revealed that you don't actually need to validate. The tone has already been set by the PM before it went live. Hence vaccine passport should either be cancelled or it will cancel itself out when traders who enforce it lose money and those who avoid it make money.
