Oblivian: Yeah. So, so hard..

How to report your results
You can report the results of your RAT through My Covid Record or by calling the helpline.

Log in and report your results | mycovidrecord.health.nz(external link)
Call 0800 222 478 and press option 3.
How to use My Covid Record

My fault. It's not facebook click friendly therefore totally not worth it.

Thanks for the sarcasm. You seem rather defensive for some reason.

Everything in your reply mentions "My Covid Record " Why would anyone who doesn't have a "My Covid Record" account even consider using the online option? They tried the 0800 option but after spending a considerable amount of time on hold they gave up.

Edit. By the way your link doesn't work. If thats how it is in the documentation you were quoting from then that's a fail as well.

hairy1: Our 10 year old has a fever which was pretty high with crazy dreams on nights 1 and 2. No vomiting since day 1 (now day 4) but the fever just comes and goes. Talking to a relative who has it (different part of the country) says it took 5 days after household member 0 was symptomatic for them to show symptoms. The rest of the house just tested negative on our day 3 tests

Your son seems to be having a rotten time of it, so sorry to hear, hopefully he improves quickly from here on in, and that if the rest of your household contract it, it's more mild than that.

It's wide public sarcasm..if you haven't noticed. Everyone is giving up. Like life is a waste of time if it doesn't effect them. Bugger anyone else

They're not scanning. They're not fronting up when positive. And making an effort for the sake of others, is always 'too hard'

My... covid... Record.

Not my vaccination state. A negative result from a pcr is a record, a positive result from a RAT, is a record. Both of which can show up there if you're registered. Pretty sure that's why they went with that.

And hotlink listed as the primary before the number, on the the page found searching how to report a positive result (for whatever reason it pasted in as a gz link)

https://covid19.govt.nz/testing-and-tracing/covid-19-testing/rapid-antigen-tests-rats/

Likely Similar to info packs. Again, if it wasn't included in the test pack, it's easily searched/found

However as you pointed out yourself, easily written off

I get the impression they've tried, it was too hard, they gave up

It just bugs me, that everyone is far quicker at picking the too hard bin. Rather than do leg work. An offshoot of the I want it now, and I want it in a swipe of a thumb. Like how they get their news.

My 10yo son tested positive this Sunday morning.  I am still hearing that some people with positive RATS are getting PCR tests, but the text back from the ministry after we advised them of the result was that he won't.

I know someone in the US whose child tested positive. As they had a large house, there were able to isolate them, and  they got away with noone else catching it. That was the first case they have had in their family as they have been extra careful and they work from home . It does look like half of all cases in NZ are in young people. Apparently NZ has some of the most freedom of any country during the Omicron outbreak. I like this quote because it is so true

"The Government is putting its head in the sand… I guess the Government messaging makes people inclined to put their heads in the sand as well."

people are not "giving up"

they have got their 2-3 jabs and moved on to the next phase as directed, led and examplified by the govt

we started at alert level

then we had delta level

then we had traffic lights

then we had phase

we are all in a new phase something called phase 3

The giving up comment was im relation to unvaccinated people not recording the RAT results.

Looks like 7 day isolation for arrivals is about to be changed... (i'm guessing they will go to 5 or 3 days).... or it might be totally scrapped given we had 15K cases on Sun....

The Govt has gone from Saturday ( probably recorded on Friday)
"Ardern said she didn't expect Cabinet to make a decision as soon as Monday,"
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2022/02/hope-for-tourism-as-government-seeks-urgent-advice-on-covid-19-self-isolation-for-arrivals.html

 to Monday morning saying....
"Cabinet will discuss and make decisions today," she said, adding that any decisions reached would be addressed at this afternoon's post-Cabinet press briefing"

As someone who is immunocompromised, and has a immunocompromised fiancée who barely survived a run in with the flu and ended up in hospital.

How the hell are we meant to avoid/dodge COVID if we just continue to let it rip?

Uni has refused to do remote learning so she's having to go in(and there's already COVID cases at this uni). Trying to avoid it as much as we can but it just feels like we're all going to get it now and the people with the crappiest immune systems are going to end up being the worst off/abandoned/forgotten?

Maybe I am dooming and glooming too much but we kind of just don't feel safe anymore.

It should be scrapped either that or isolate 3 days with a RAT test on arrival and at day 3 or something.

I think there is a certain amount of efficacy from the 3 vaccine doses. Maybe they should give certain groups a fourth. Either that or check their antibody levels and give a fourth if low.

Traffic is well down out our way on weekends, people are just avoiding going out.

Very much get the vibe though, we spent ages evading any possible outbreak and suddenly we're just sitting back and shrugging at 10,000+ cases a day.

I'm aware.

However phase 3, if it was named what it was, would be even more ignored - bar their set changes to length and border - self responsibility. You might want to do a localised poll as to how many others understand it. And if they know what the phases actually mean needs to happen. Going by conversation in my day to day it means 'life as normal unless I get crook and need to hide it'
Or, everyone might be a contact and need to isolate, 'but it's not clear and cant tell anymore as the LoIs aren't updated - so confusing.'

Others don't seem to and are basically jumping on the Wellington mob thought train unless they know someone at risk. ('whats the point in...' has been here too..)

We are expected to scan, keep close contact details front of mind - keep a diary ready to upload
Monitor and test yourself on any BT notification -relies on above happening efficiently
Notify others of your result.. relies on both of above, and actually wanting to admit you are. There aren't any forced monitoring or phone calls to make you feel guilty anymore and comply unless you admit, where previously you were name dropped by others or LoIs.
And as if you are, impacts your staying at home. It's easily found as 'too hard'.
We've just been advised of an example of that.

Correct. Immuno-compromised patients could have a prescription for a third shot, then the booster (3 + 1 instead of 2 + 1). Consult your GP.

We've already had 3 full shots. Because we were both immunocompromised our booster was actually a third full shot.
Also consulting GP is impossible. There's a 1 month wait period before the next appointment. Might actually see if we can get a nurse appointment but will need to talk to fiancée around planning.

I am suggesting a fourth shot. Everyone is supposed to have 2 + 1. Some people can have 3 + 1 - ask @mikeb4
