Press release:

In light of the Prime Minister's announcement raising New Zealand's COVID-19 alert level, Shortland Street will air Monday - Wednesday, effective immediately.

This move allows us to continue to air the programme while it is not in production in a consistent way throughout the lock-down period.

Yeah, can't have people miss out on that $1.95 acrylic LED remote caddy from Wish. I really don't think it's that essential any more. Dropping to once a week or even once a fortnight to reduce risk would be fine by me. Or hold everything for a week to reduce chances of live culture on envelopes/whatever to keep the posties safe.

Many people may get regular medicines or medical supplies delivered by postal or courier services. They must continue.

My wife needs medicine that i have to pick up 3 times a week from the chemist, should be fun .

Common sense is not as common as you think.

There will be real panic buying now, you thought it was bad before it will get worse yet.

Called in at our local shop (for local people. Nothing for you here!) and it’s like Toast weekend in there! Not too bad but way busier than usual.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what will happen if (for example) a water pipe bursts, and a plumber is needed?

If it's past the Toby, it's city council

Inside, it's your issue.

Make sure your Toby works and is not seized up.

And your rain water collection is working.

That doesn't make sense.  The prices are going to plummet soon.

I've just been past our local Resene shop and it's absolutely heaving. I didn't think of redecorating during the lockdown but maybe some people decided they can't handle four weeks of that colour any more.

Madness.  How do you socially isolate while in shop heaving with customers?

We have friends with children at university around the country that want their kids home (particularly now tertiary institutions have been told to close as soon as possible). The problem is, how to get them home.

We have a daughter at Canterbury who was due to be here this weekend. My wife is desperate to have her back but that's just not going to happen.

No flights or ferries at all and as much as I would like her to be at home, her flight on Friday is not absolutely necessary so she and I agreed she should stay where she is.

Now I have to tell my wife !

Anz have just announced 2 days increased National capacity. Keep trying.

In other news, bottle stores are busy. And some supermarkets have locked down to minimal restricted entry numbers with queues out the road

is postal/courier services continuing or stopping 4 weeks?

At the moment, it will still be running.

Apparently, NZPost and CourierPost are essential services  according to the Goverment.

You would think they would be restricting the number of people in the store at any one time to allow enough space between shoppers. Also have special times dedicated to older people been brought in yet?

Have there been any announcements on enforcing self isolating travelers into NZ? I heard of a case which has now apparently been reported, of someone who had returned a couple of days ago to NZ, and was in a  local cafe and was going around meeting people.

Confession time. Before I picked up our daughter at 3pm I went to the bottle store 😊

I hope they are all keeping 2 metre distance from one another, based on the post of the place heaving.
