It seems to work well, I just Chromecast to my TV. The only problem is the sound is in mono. This is the second week they have done this.

Batman:

anyway, a trip down memory lane. i wonder if convalascent plasma therapy works whether we'd call on our mammal friends to "help" https://americanhistory.si.edu/blog/2013/08/how-horses-helped-cure-diphtheria.html https://www.historyofvaccines.org/content/horse-serum

Oh, you are talking about serum, which is not a vaccine. It doesn't help prevent but helps fight infections.

iamaelephant: Can we cut the conspiracy theory BS? It's completely off topic and has added about a page of useless noise to this thread.

I have removed almost a full page of links and comments on conspiracy theories. These don't help, clutter the discussion and is spreading this bullshit around.

Keep this on topic, keep this current, folks.

US total cases now exceed half a million.  And US COVID-19 deaths now only only ~200 short of Italy total.

And, to counter Republican dismissal based on population size, the USA is now in the top 10 countries for both infections and fatalities per capita (excluding tiny outliers like Luxembourg and San Marino).

And New York state alone has more cases than any country (USA excepted of course).  And close to double the total for China (81,907).

New York state 159,937
Spain 158,273
Italy 147,577
(as at 23:20 UTM)

Lifting coronavirus lockdown measures too early could spark a "deadly resurgence" in infections, the World Health Organization chief has warned.

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said countries should be cautious about easing restrictions, even as some struggle with the economic impact.

"The way down can be as dangerous as the way up if not managed properly."

People I talk to are eagerly waiting for a relaxation in the lockdown rules so they can get out and about again. But, I hope NZ takes notice of this warning from the WHO chief and people stay at home as much as possible.

We went for a walk this morning, and there were lots of people out and it was quite hard at times to always keep to the 2-metre rule unless you walked down the middle of the road, which wasn't a good idea as plenty of cars were out and about.

Personally speaking, I'm on the heart medicine Digoxin (a very common drug), and Hydroxychloroquine would probably kill me. The good news is taking it means I wouldn't have to worry about COVID-19.

On April 8th, the American Heart Association put out a statement of concern regarding the heart-related side effects of using antimalarials for treating COVID-19 patients.

In it, they note that the drugs can cause potentially-fatal changes to heart rhythms, and that these may not be detected in time.

You can read their full statement here at the AHA/ASA Journals:

with all due respect to the WHO, I don't know if people actually find WHO credible. Every govt is doing their own thing - aim is to protect both lives and money at the same time because lockdown = a different kind of death.
