Had a friend leave a message on our group chat today asking if we think that people will be letting go of their fishing boats during these difficult times.
I've always known this guy to be very 'financially-economic' with his money, but I think this just crosses the line.
He prefaced it by saying he didn't want to sound selfish ... but I dunno man.
And this is the guy who always bails out of everything as soon as he hears that it comes with a price tag, proudly boasting how he never spends a single cent on 'digital items' etc yet complains about how he can't afford anything because he's always so poor like he's still a 10 year old. Mate, you're an adult with a mortgage. Self-deprecating money humour is reserved for teenagers and broke uni students.
People are worried about their health, their financial stability during this pandemic and you're hoping that one of these desperate people let's go of their fishing boat to make ends meet so you can get a good deal?
It just really rubbed me the wrong way. Life is about living, not trying to save a cent everywhere you go.
