The latest 5 case sub-cluster at "Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship" has me a bit nervous.

What concerns me is that cases are only being picked up now, which is very late, and likely well past the 14 day incubation cycle based on the dates the MOH of health mentioned the events occurred. They also discussed a wedding related to this. It certainly has me nervous. Obviously they are now stepping up testing in this area. I think case numbers per day are going to continue on their current trend for some time, rather than it just being a long tail, especially with the odd random case just popping up like occurred a few days ago.

In NSW you pay $3000 for your Hotel, and still, even after lesson of Melbourne.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-26/sydney-travelodge-hotel-barred-from-coronavirus-quarantine/12596188

""
Sydney's Travelodge Hotel in Surry Hills yesterday became the first to be struck off NSW's mandatory quarantine program after a raft of complaints.
About 400 people staying there were moved 2 kilometres to a different hotel at Darling Harbour amid concerns about the cleanliness of rooms.
""
The issues that were raised with authorities included:

Sticky, dusty and greasy surfaces
Floors covered in grime
White powder on carpets
Human hair on furniture
Mould
Previous guests food still in fridge
Major delays in receiving meals   --- Some meals missed completely.

Security not wearing masks.

""
Guests said when they learnt they were leaving they felt like they had "won the lottery".

Took the opportunity today to get tested at North Shore events centre. Only 2 other cars in front of me.

Swizzle stick up the schnozzle, tickled, made my eyes water, and sneezed.

Like a good snuff.

I have been out and about during the last 2 weeks as part of my job, and one of my colleagues was in isolation for the last two weeks - part of the Torbay event.  I hadn't been in contact with him for at least a week prior to that.

ANd I have been in Mangere area, with quite a few staff members in an office building, so I was thinking "just in case".

I'm also debating about the jet hot air hand drier that's in our odffcie gents toilet - much evidence about them just spraying around particulates.

And no paper towels, and am required to touch the toilet door handle to exit the gents .. some people are not particularly fastidious in washing afterwards. My sister tells me women can be worse ...

<shudder>

The same applies for towels. The *theory* is you are basically clean having taken care to wash. And have done the work to eliminate anything from your hands other than free flowing what's after a rinse.

However I've been to many that smell like fresh u..

Did the rules allow it?
If the rules allowed it they did nothing wrong.
Not everyone knows all the science of covid. Doctors don't even agree on the science.

MoH doesn't seek cases. Well, it does, but it relies on people taking a test. Bit late if they congregate, then feel sick days later then "some" of them get a test. Its the human factor over and over. It matters not if you and I comply, its the slackers that drag out time, and cause this. You cant stop that. You could if it was Level 4 and instant fines but the public is probably at revolt level, aka test fatigue.

Yes, but the basic rules are not science level. Distancing, washing, masks. From what I read, the team of 5 million has become the team of 3 million, 2 million. Forget the border, holes seem everywhere, but thats ok, thats the public response, even if many of the public are stalwart, its not them causing issues now.

If I lived in AKL, I would be hunkering down, avoiding stuff, and I'm sure many are, but again, they are not the problem. But if they Level 4'd, the world will revolt. So, it will be a slow burn up there.

I'm not sure what science level is. But I understand rules are the rules. If the rules were followed then that's all there is to it. If the rules weren't followed, then they did something wrong.

You might have read that the flights to Queenstown were all booked up by Aucklanders - every single seat has been taken.

That's why everybody drives at or under the posted speed  limit, indicate lane changes, never look at their cellphone, overtake safely, and we've got the lowest road toll in the world.

As I understand, if they did all that, they would have followed the rules. And if they didn't, they would be deemed to have done something wrong. No?

Even before that, when ANZ announced the cut backs of routes. The majority of posts on Social were exactly that. People complaining their ZQN flights had been cancelled without notice, or making it very hard to get there. And it was 2x as much to rebook

It honestly looked like most the north island totally disregarded what was happening and had either planning on escaping before. Or had lined up the same weekend to go down there which fell upon lvl3
