Hemi88: Just at the supermarket I counted 15 in waiting 8 of them used the QR code people are starting use it

Do they have multiple codes that people can scan, so people aren't lining up to scan?

It is just a pity that it took this outbreak to occur, before the government made it mandatory that all businesses in NZ must now display these. If all businesses had them on display during level 2 and then 1 previously, there would also likely to have been a greater adoption of the app. Prior to the outbreak, the app was hardly being used, and not that many people had downloaded it, and very little was being done to increase it's use. I would also like to see it a requirement that all people going into a businesses under all levels, that they must scan in, as a health and safety requirement, even under level 1. We need to make this a 'habit', as we are now living in a Covid world. Unfortunately too many people forgot this, and the narrative was that there was no community transmission, so we could all go about our normal lives again inside NZ, because we had all done the hard work. But the hard work continues, and is also about making sure that the belts and braces are in place in the community to protect us against this type of leak through the border. The Covid card is another option in teh future, but their are issues around that including battery life, whether people will take it with them, getting it replaced if damaged etc, but they could be an option for the elderly for example who may not have a compatible device with the app.

I had one QR fail at a food truck yesterday - but the Rippl one worked and I also made a manual entry.

Local New World seems to only have one QR code at a small table setup at the entry to the store, most people were just walking past it.

Obviously there is MoH guidance. Operating company guidance. But mostly fall on managers to interpret. Some have been great, some have done minimal.

CH Airport countdown put them back after I raised their vanishing at L1 with HO. Now there is one on the outer window, inner door beside the sanitiser dispenser, AND on the customer service desk in A2

Since L2, they have added it also to a sign they put out pre-queue area when busy, facing the carpark with purchase limits and in-store distancing requirements

While the local one has it on just the outer windows since the get go.

There is most certainly a lot putting them out as much as they can incase there is follow up compliance checks?. PB tech had none outside, but on podium inside the door... and the Cashier barriers, Store tech & concierge screens and random isles :)

And even individual small retailers inside a mall front and centre.

MoH socials are still filled with their reps re-pasting personalised messages with help email and number to TinFoilers and the many complaints from those back/home button pressers task-switching or not using the draw-down for current codes causing re-issue issues.

100% scan rate yesterday from my visits to Repco & SuperCheap, twice each in Upper Hutt and a mission over to J'ville because of stock placement.

Much improved on in wave 1 where it was very much hit or miss if it would read the code.

Was doing a forced backup to a google account and spotted the COVID-19 exposure notifications (disabled by default, and it says to enable it, you need to install a participating app). Hopefully MoH include the iOS/Google APIs with the coming releases.

I visited my local Pak 'n Save on Saturday and was glad to see that they now have several QR codes displayed (previously I think they only had one at each entrance) and well spaced so that people don't have to line up. I saw several people scanning them but also some just walking straight in without scanning. Maybe 2/3 of people wearing masks.

I have been using it a lot over the last few days with no problems - New World, Burger Wisconsin, even on the train.

I would have to say that I seem to be the only person doing it. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen anyone else scan any of the QR code posters.

Someone bought this up in the press conf and went all technical on them. Asking if it was due to talk to the recently included API. Threw CH off. So just said would look into that and moved on

They may avoid it however. Due likelyhood to spark more 'OMG tracking' claims.

There is already a number of people online on the MoHs post doing the 'They're tracking you already - look!' Directing to the OS covid addin.

Used a lot the last few days - most ever this morning when in the city. 100% success rate.

Stupid app. Asking me to login and its only been a couple of weeks since I last used it.

Couldnt remember my password, so threw phone back in my bag.

It really should be able to open using my fingerprint.
