Well there ya go

Is it IOS only I wonder? (or some particular phone home period). Sure not pestered everyone it seems.

My BT record is also dated the 20th, not 17th like others

Had been complacent with my app tracer use pre-lockdown due to having Google tracking turned on the whole time...

Pretty handy having the regular places that you can star*

Transferred location data from Google Maps to tracer app the moment lockdown was announced (although I know if ever, not having the actual location data recorded from QR makes a huge difference---better than nothing tho)

Is big brother watching, or are others also keeping tabs on what we talk about here :)

Q was raised over BT during Q&A today.

And yes, they are aware app was used for alert push. Less so for BT work.

1st contact calls may not have asked users if they had BT on. And a sample of follow up ones found many did not. Despite the active figures.

The use of bluetooth was questioned at the conference today

Ashley said they weren't asking people if they had bluetooth turned on at the first interview due to the number of cases.

He also said not many had it turned on in their app.

Ministry of Health have told media that fewer than 10 people received a bluetooth alert.

Hopefully the media do more investigation on this now.

Yes, good to get an answer on this. It sounds like the contact tracers were not aware that they should collect bluetooth keys....! "We have given them a nudge around that".

I find it hard to believe that the Ministry of Health forgot the feature exists. But, if the above is true then we would expect to see exposure alerts/keys being sent out over the coming days for the new cases that are being announced.

Probably bit of the left hand not knowing or understanding what the right hand was doing.

The poor answer from Bloomfield is simply inexcusable.

Their own stats show that yesterday that 1,926,154 devices had Bluetooth tracing enabled.

As pointed out on the main thread.
APIs are opening up to save vaccination data too.

Wonder if it's on the horizon for us.

Australia have adapted the google pay method. While there is a non google pay one opening up too using 'Passes API'

It's my understanding that until the NIR solution (that's out new immunisation register than they needed to build for Covid) is further progressed that we have no way yet of doing centralised digital vaccine records. We're not like Australia who has a centralised app for health records - here people just have the likes of manage my health for their local GP.

The Covid app Bluetooth data tends to contradict Ashley Bloomfield's comments. 1,932,281 people with Bluetooth active out of 3,103,367 registrations, 61 %.

Can only answer for Android. I guess iOS would be similar. It's not in the app but in you phone settings , "Google (Google Services)" - "Covid -19 Exposure Notifications" then tap on the three dots at top right of your screen then tap "Exposure checks".
