I found them on Kogan at a decent price, but the shipping cost was just silly ($50sh); I also looked at eBay/Ali, but decided against it due to shipping delays being common in the past few months.

I ended up buying one from TradeMe, and it works fine. These cheap Ali/eBay/TM ones appear to be incredibly similar to ones sold for way more from some of the sites you listed; I'm really doubtful it's worth paying this much more, unless you really want a particular brand or style (eg, the triangle style of a Theragun).

This is the model I bought (for OOS/back pain - not exercise recovery, he adds quickly!): https://www.trademe.co.nz/health-beauty/massage/massage-equipment/listing-2752632716.htm?rsqid=4623bedc679f458597d5b3c48bb56080-001

Went with the same one you got from Trade Me. Arrived yesterday, full on massages last night. Great value so far so good.

Thanks for the tip.

Great to hear.
Since you originally posted I’ve started using mine a lot more, and must say it’s fairly effective. Another plus is it’s easy to use while watching tv.

On the surface these look very similar to the chiropractic non back cracking "Activator Method" technique adjustment guns.

How are people actually using these, do they just vibrate slowly and firmly or something?

Certainly not slowly! Read somewhere the average gun runs at between 2000 and 3200 RPM.

Early times but I've found faster is more effective. Yes correct up to 3200rpm.

Looking at getting a massage gun for my wife for Christmas for post running.

While I have had some great buys off AliExpress, reliability has not always been great.  i.e brought some wireless headphones, first set lasted nearly 2 years but then went through 4 sets of replacements that barely lasted a month (same brand same seller), also want it here for Christmas.

Can anyone recommend a brand in NZ that is reliable and not too expensive?  There are so many and they all seem kind of the same just slightly different looks.

There are a whole bunch of these on Amazon.com.au - most over the free shipping threshold to get to NZ. TBH, I've tended to get things quicker from Australia than from a lot of local retailers.

Didn't think about amazon.

So many choices that all look the same.  I have a couple of students that have the theragun ones but that is a little more than I am willing to pay (they are semi professional in the sports they do).
