Aaroona: To be honest, not impressed with the king of shave razors.
I'd prefer to use a blunt knife.

How long did you use if for?

Used it the last week (so 2 times thus far) but I've changed razors before and never found them this crap.
Might have to swap back to my Gilette Fusion. Thats been a pretty decent razor and gives a decent shave. Even with a blunt blade its better than this "King" of shave.

I found it took 5 days for my face to get use to it and then it was the best razor I have ever used. Persist for a whole week and you'll see.

I've had this before when changing razors, so I wasn't surprised.

I use The Art of Shaving products:

http://www.theartofshaving.com/

Their stuff is amazing, and is available from StrawberryNET too.

My experience was the first few mornings it seemed to give me a rough shave (although I think it was more my skin reacting to a different razor), and then on the 5th morning it was fine. And a few days later it was brilliant!!!

Hope it works for you.

I found the King of Shaves required a different shaving "style" to what I've become used to with Gilette/Schick etc. I've found it pretty good too, once I got used to it.

How did you get on with the King of Shaves in the end? Did it come right for you after a few more days or is it now binned?

Yeah - that's the thing with the flexi head on it - it doesn't require as much pressure on the razor against your face to shave.

I'm still using mine, but only until it's blunt.
I still rate it sub par, doesn't give as good a shave as a Gillette etc and it cuts more. especially around the chin.

I tried mine for around 3 days and didn't like it so switched back to a Shick.

Has anyone tried the new Gillette glide system? I think that's what it's called.

Every new version works very slightly better than the last, and the price seems to rise 10-20% a time. I'd rather use a different brand, but I tried Schick and Gillette do seem to be the best.

i find that with teh AZOR, i press a lot more firmly on the razor back with two fingers and it moulds/flexes to the shape of the face. if i tried doing that with the gillette i'd cut myself.

switching between gillette and schick was also 'difficult' as they both need to be 'held' differently.

sometimes it takes a little trial+error when feeling out a new razor!

gehenna: That said, I'm not shaving again until it gets above 11 degrees!

I vote for shaving in the shower.

^this
Been doing it for the last 10 years and won't go back to standing in front of the sink.

I DO need new blades for my Schick so might have to have a look at this one though.
