I use FlightRadar24 http://www.flightradar24.com/

Shows quite a few more planes...strange as you'd think the data source would be the same?

There's a great iPad app as well (of course there is;-0)

Bah, we're geeks, there's nothing interesting in a typical meat-market site.

Try okcupid.com , there is even a TED-ed about it: http://ed.ted.com/lessons/inside-okcupid-the-math-of-online-dating-christian-rudder

They used to do really interesting blogs too based on statistics gleaned from their database, but seem to have stopped that a couple of years back :-(

Planefinder uses data uploaded to pinkfroot via the PlanePlotter application

Not everyone uses planeplotter, and as such Flightradar24 has users such as myself uploading data from our home receivers using their own upload application. I'm personally serving my data to both.. and a military tracking site.

Search the forum for ADSB and you will find previous threads on me showing others my progress in setting it up. You can now also use RTL2032U TV tuner cards from ebay for about $35 to set it up at home

If you see on FR24 anything in the south covered by T-NZCH1, thats me :)
