bough a car off them few months ago. started out alright - good service, etc. but have discovered theres an oil leak, which i've been in to fix once now but has sprung up again.

regardless, they're still on top of it - waiting for their courtesy car to be back in house before i can drop mine back. would recommend them for now, but will see how it goes and update.

freitasm: We are looking out for VW Golf, five years old or so. If you know of a good place in Wellington or Auckland...

Car Giant in Petone usually has a few late-model Golf's.

i agree on the quality and grooming. went to check them out and the cars are hopelessly low grade (things peeling, frilled, dirty, broken bits .. !!!)

We didn't buy from them in the end. Just couldn't find anything with the specs and K's we were after. Not that this helps in Welly, but they have a new yard in Botany Downs which looks good.
I found the cars were likely to be B grade which is why they are cheaper. Lots of little things that are not quite right, trims missing, lots of them had Japanese radios/Japanese av kit which had just been ripped out and the mounts left in the car or AV wiring still glued to trim (leads for GPS units etc.). Nothing you couldn't fix after buying, but not perfect either. They do still seem to be good though despite not having A+ grade cars.

*EDIT* also found their website was not updated regularly to show the cars they actually had. You would see one and call them and get told it was gone but they had similar cars coming. New yard looks better, but the old one in Highbrook drive was annoying, they seemed to have enough stock to get through the week so if you went on a Sunday, they had maybe 5 cars left for sale.

We put a $200 hold on a VW Golf, waiting for an AA appraisal to be completed. Let's see how it goes. If this pans out, the $500 voucher sounds like a good deal!

But it's technology, must be the bestest, fastest, biggest, loudest, most connectedest, else I believe you might have to hand in your supreme bean card.

Check my Bluetooth-enabled umbrella thread and your punny AM/FM radio is worth nothing.

Only if your bluetooth-enabled umbrella is somehow able to make the muzak in your car better

After going through this thread and replies we looked at a VW Golf there. We put a small sum to hold the car and had AA come to inspect it. Two small faults were found. We asked 2cheapcars what they would about it, so they have these two faults fixed and put new tyres. We're now waiting instructions to conclude the transaction - will buy from them.
