Hi All,

We recently purchased a jap import odesey (RB1 model 2003-2009) which has the "Internav" multimedia system. Unfortunately the HD has gone in our car and trying to revive it so the rear view camera works.

Is there anyone here that has one and is keen to create an ISO of the HD? should be fairly easy to do. HD is easy to remove.

I thoguth the japanese had done special stuff (this here is the technical term :D ) with GPS unit from there and they're ring fenced to japan (so even if you get the maps it wont work).  I have seen this with Euros ex japan.  Normally it takes a full stereo replacement. seems to be the one most importers will point you at.

Most Jap imports use some "local" Japanese GPS system which does not function over here. Apart from that everything else should work to a degree.....

Ask around on - the guys there are generally helpful and got good info :)

The system in question has a bunch of other features including a hard drive which automatically rips any CDs you play.

I have this system, I don't know when I would get an opportunity to take an ISO for you, (and I don't know how, but sure I could work it out)

Where are you located?

I know the system a little bit and I know it's all in Japanese.  I'm not sure if there is much merit in fixing it but the engineer in me is just keen to try.  I'd like the reversing camera to work and CD ripping part would be nice too.

I like the testdrive idea.. never thought of it.

I'm located in Te Atatu, west Auckland.

HDD is very easy to reach behind the cover under the DVD drive.

HI Jschuld, I didnt get a chance to look into taking an Iso, but I found the links id seen before.

You will need to setup an account for this forum, but theres a lot of very useful information on there.

Incidentally, our unit has just started playing up!!

Re converting units to work in NZ:  This site ('What We Won't Do' tab) states:

"At this stage we are aware that there are companies in NZ that are converting some factory type units to English menus and sometimes NZ mapping."

Anyone know or have a link for the said "companies in NZ" who are converting the units?

I bought an Odyssey a few weeks ago from the dealer, and tomorrow they have arranged for an auto electrician to replace the HDD unit with a normal stereo. They're going to put a 3rd party reversing camera in as well.
I can ask to keep the HDD etc.... do you want it?
Replacing as it would turn on/off randomly.

Hi Jeeves,

That would be awesome, thanks!   If there are any other bits coming off I'd be keen too. I.e. the screen.  Mine is broken and although I have good hopes of fixing it having an example always works better. Happy to share any details / schematics and fix-howto to the community as a return.

Hi there, my HDD has died in my RB1 - does anyone have a working HDD or ISO they might be able to share? Thanks!
