Some reckon it is not even the factory welding, what you think guys?
I don't know how I missed it before buying the car but now I took it back to the dealer to check.

Do you have any idea where in Japan your car came from, they have fairly hot and steamy summers, so rust like this is not unexpected on an unprotected weld
TLD: Surely the plating is applied after the welding and should cover the welds? I started out as a toolmaker so welding was not my primary job, but so long as the old welds were ground off, my grannie could do welds like that with MIG. Is it possible that the vehicle was swapped from left to right rand drive? Could it have been rebuilt after a serious accident? Is the vehicle NZ New?
We had a database in the UK where you could check history to see if a vehicle had ever been written off. A quick Google found this, and it appears to be free.
