butlerboy: How does it drive??? Was thinking of getting an Octavia when we eventually replace my wife's A4.

Love it.  I've got the turbo diesel, went up to Cape Reinga last Monday, plenty of power to overtake and to go round all the windy curves :)

nakedmolerat: Be careful when you drive in Manurewa next time ;-P

I must say I haven't seen it for a while now! (Probably because I was on holiday overseas for a month)

Are my parents paying you to say that?

I haven't been out south in ages as been too busy with work.  Should really visit the parentals, then you can stalk me :)

Everyone seems to love these recent Rangers. My Uncle has A RR sport but is forever driving his ranger. And my Dad changing from a Jeep Grand Cherokee to a ranger

Those Rangers are the closest thing on NZ roads that look like the beasts that are American trucks. I wish manufacturers would take notice and start making their trucks more aggressive looking...

dream car?  i'd love to change it every few months... right now it would be the Tesla S with optional "ludicrous mode" upgrade. 0-60 in 2.8s and 1.1Gs,

where were you in that pic?

standing next to the car ;)

Jokes aside... it was in the military training area next to the desert road and running up to the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. We had a military escort as we were in a live fire range with unexploded ordnance, some of which we spotted on the trip.

I used to work for the UK MOD and we had a great sign that we used to put up in certain places:

"Do not touch or kick metal objects on the ground in this area: they may explode and kill you."

You can afford breaking your weekend car.... You might never be able to break it though.

I've owned that Rav4 for exactly 5 months. I have nothing good to say about that car other than it can fit stuff and people in it.

I actually made a gallery of the cars I have driven/owned (that I remembered or cared enough to take pictures of) and put it up here... Listed in order of coolness :-)

http://www.nzsnaps.com/Other/Cars-I-have-owned-or-driven/51191363_xCvjqp#!i=4263476100&k=mRMBpvf

The last car in the gallery is a cheat - I sat in it but we weren't allowed to start it, just take photos for an auction (where it sold for well over half a million USD)

Cheers -N
