the problem with drones they have limited flight time.. batteries run dry in 10 to 30min

those quads they use for TV and sport event snaps..

did you see that drone crash and just miss a skiier in a competition recently.. think it was in canada?

not sure if theres petrol ones, guess they could stay up longer.

no doubt usa military have better tech... their drones stay up all  day but theyre mini planes not helis

Probably be easier to teach people to swim and not swim where it is dangerous...!

It baffles me why people deliberately swim outside the flagged areas on patrolled beaches.
Also, we are a maritime country, Swimming should be compulsory in all schools.

Even with a short flight time, could be valuable for locating a person in trouble in large swells so the rescue crew can be guided to them.  Has potential for sure.

As for swimming, don't get me started on swimming lessons in schools.  I think they have to deliver 1 day 'water safety' per year, and they don't even have to get in the water!  It can be in the classroom watching a video.  Pathetic.

I have a vague recollection of seeing a safety device for open water swimmers that works like an airbag. I'll have a look and see if I can find it and post a link.
