Turns out it is brake fluid, and has just failed its first WOF because of a faulty/leaking master brake cylinder. Awesome.

Have photos and video taken well within the first 12 months of ownership.

Trying to ascertain what position the dealership is going to take on this. (they also did the service/WOF).

If anyone has ZE1 second hand key FOBs for Japan or UK model - I am interested.
If you lost all keys for your AZE0 Leaf in Auckland - do not panic, I can sort you.

Our Leaf has now been swapped for a new Honda Jazz eHEV.

It proved inadequate for our requirements and a version with a big enough battery (ie a new one) was almost twice the cost of the Jazz.

I used these guys to replace my dying 2012 leaf battery last year (still going well!)

This is huge news! - I'll probably end up replacing the battery with the green one they will offer when the replacement one starts to fail.

Unfortunately it's a big "Depends"

Depends on these factors.

1. how dead is the one you have now

2. how big do you want to go for the replacement

3. what is available

4. where are you

Note, this is for the battery swap with an old Leaf battery, for the new one - they aren't saying yet.

Have a look here: https://evsenhanced.com/services/hv-battery-swaps-and-upgrades/

They have a calculator towards the bottom of that page. Another 2016 30KW Leaf owner thinking about it

When we were buying ours a few weeks back someone mentioned a locally built better battery and I guess this must be the thing they had some information on. Very interested to see the pricing in them. Our 30kw is still just about on 12 bars so has a fair amount of usage before it needs a new battery but if the blue long range battery becomes a thing at a decent price I'd be very tempted to sell the ICE and get another leaf and stick one of those in it.

Anyone with a 2018/40kwh Leaf doing any summer driving? I'm keen to go down this route and ditch my Mini for something with more doors and a lower running cost - and feeling a bit better about it since the EVs Enhanced announcement (so I know I won't be left with a totally useless battery in five years time if I abuse the hell out of it).

If anyone's done any long distance days I'd be keen to hear how your Leaf handles it.

We have a 40 kWh Leaf, and have taken it on a few summer road trips.

It's a great car, but there are some limitations due to the non-active battery cooling. This means that the car is good for one full recharge before the battery starts getting hot, and the charging rate drops.

In practice, you can drive about 4 hours (one charge). After that, you have to be quite patient when charging. For our family, that means you can drive from Wellington to Taupo, or Wellington to Hawkes Bays in a single day.

Re: battery health - our 2017 Leaf has a battery health of 91% - it's bean fairly steady at the value for a while now.

I'll be hauling an under-one yo so I think my days of doing full Bathurst stints in a day and juicing a whole tank of fuel without stopping are probably over.

Sounds like it will be good from Auckland > Taupo or the Coromandel then. Awesome. I'm sick of going on a long drive and having it set me back $200.

Hey guys, what's the story with auto-folding wing mirrors on Leafs?  My 2016 24G Autech has the button under the mirror controls per the attached pic, but it doesn't do anything either when I press it, nor when I lock the car?  The localized manual doesn't mention it, and google has lots of mention of auto-folding aftermarket kits?

Mine folds & unfolds on button press. AFAIK no option to have it auto-fold/un-fold on power.
