Tbh, I'm not sure your experience will be too different with an EV from a company like Hyundai, Nissan, etc. Just because you have a Hyundai dealership/service centre nearby doesn't mean that they have a tech that's trained to work on an EV. They may still need to send it to a different city that does have an EV trained tech or wait for one to visit.

*Bodyshops. They won't repair mechanical issues, but crash damage, etc.

Why not, they have access to parts and diagnostics and I know they have replaced battery packs etc already on model 3's?

They wont do warranty work unless via tesla I guess

I mean, you could try but it's generally not how bodyshops work. If it was damaged in a crash they'll repair/replace parts but they're not a service centre and you generally can't just go there with a fault and have them fix it.

Just wondering about the numerous references to Southland?! Here's a map to help, just in case you're unsure about the location of the megalopolis of Palmy!

I do see an increasing number of 3s on the road in PN - and only expect this to increase given the numbers sold in the last month - so I'd be interested to know what these owners do in relation to servicing and repairs.

There is a Mobile Service tech that drives up from Wellington to service cars in Palmerston North.

Hi

I think Tesla adjusted their NZ website and made Cybertruck preorders available for NZ.
Unless it's been there for a while and I missed it.

Exterior is 2.8" wider at the widest points vs widest points.

But nowhere in Google can I find middle row interior shoulder and hip width.

Even found one comment saying it's narrower lol

I had been looking at the RAV4 Limited hybrid as my next car, but given its current scarcity remaining cars are going for $60k! At that sort of price it's worth finding a bit more to go fully BEV.

So, thanks to this thread, I am thinking more seriously about the Y; I'll certainly take the Ioniq 5 for a test drive, but the value proposition of the Y (compared to what will be the compromises of the base-model 5 and EV6) is certainly compelling.

The guy in the Autogefuhl video I watched earlier was pretty critical of the suspension of the Y which, given the quality of NZ's roads, may be a potential issue (he was impressed with handling, though, reckoning it was the best of the Tesla range).

Has anyone come across any decent reviews/reports of the standard-range Y? Those I've found relate to the short-lived US version, but I understand Tesla has released a new standard-range version for HK (which I assume would be similar/the same as what we'll get here?).
