Hell's teeth! If their off peak rate is 24c what are they charging at peak times?

I believe it was 29c/kWh for peak. Which is 1c less than the 30c/kWh I have with Meridian...but I'm not really fussed by the peak rate since we're usually out of the house during those hours and don't use high power devices during those hours.

Better off with Ecotricity. 32c peak (7-11am, 5-9pm weekdays) but 21.1c off peak (including all weekend) and 11.1c export, on low user plan because our PV minimises our consumption.

They all sound a bit pricey. Daily charge is important too as that racks up.

Meridian low user at my Bach in the Coromandel daily charge 60 cents off peak 15.7 cents
and peak 29 cents.

At home in Auckland, Genesis EV plan daily charge $2.23 off peak 22 cents peak 11 cents. The higher daily rate is worth it with the home consumption.

I spent $95k on a Model 3 I had never driven or even seen in person prior to receiving my own.

I did exactly that and never felt too worried about doing so.

It's also possible to find someone in your location to give you a demo - ages before the Y became available in NZ I found a local M3 owner who took me for a drive. I've also done exactly the same for other locals keen on seeing a Y in the flesh before ordering.

Amen bro,

I would never buy a car without test drive first, especially a high tech EV.

Meanwhile I know several guys who have placed orders for a certain German supercar sight unseen.

CNN: Tesla Autopilot’s safety questioned after latest fatal motorcycle crash

Tesla’s Autopilot was involved in a third fatal motorcycle crash this summer, raising questions about the driver-assist system’s ability to operate safely.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has already launched investigations...

The three fatal crashes occurred in a 51-day span this summer and follow a similar line of events: A person driving a Tesla in the early morning hours with Autopilot active strikes a motorcycle.

The crashes renew questions about whether users of the systems are kept sufficiently engaged and prepared to fully control the vehicle when needed. Research has shown that drivers glance away from the road more frequently while using Autopilot, and that many Autopilot users believe their cars drive themselves.

Tesla’s Autopilot system keeps the vehicle in its lane while traveling at a set speed, and drivers are instructed to keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times. The automaker says it detects torque on the wheel and uses a camera near the rear-view mirror to determine driver inattentiveness, and uses alerts to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road.

Ingrid Eva Noon was riding her motorcycle Florida at 2:11 a.m. when an impaired driver using Tesla’s Autopilot impacted the rear of Noon’s motorcycle
