Alpha Romeo?

That new Alfa Romeo Giula QV looks stunning. But 375kW in a front wheel drive car. Pass. I'd rather a Type R of some kind.
No idea on the cost or when it's available.

The new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is a RWD beast.

Even though Alfa Romeo won't admit it, it's widely believed to be the engine\motor from the Ferrari California T with 2 cylinders 'chopped off'

No NZ release date has been announced yet that I've heard, but I'd expect pricing to be in the Mercedes-AMG C63 \ BMW M3\M4 \ Audi RS4 ballpack. Maybe undercutting the germans.

Ah yup, I stand corrected. I misread their NZ website. That's a bit better. But yeah pricing will be up there.

Don't just take the Lexus ES for a test drive, check the other Lexus models too. The ES is front wheel drive, quite a different drive to the rear drive models. My father has the IS350, which is a lovely driving machine. I've driven the ES and wasn't so enamoured.

I think they may be about $50,000 over the OP's suggested budget.

I want to say thanks for everyones contributions here, it has been awesome. My wife has decided to persist with her Skoda until at least the end of the year and review then. The Replacement clutches seem to be  working OK and the car is performing well again. Thank goodness for new car warranties.

Probably the right choice under the circumstances.

Now you just need to contact BMW and ask them how much to convert the indicator to her preferred side :)

Wow you're right....   I'm clearly out  touch as I remember BMW 5er and Mustang retailing around $100K new. That was a while ago...:)

My brother-in law had a 535, me a 530i, both of us ex Holden...

My wife came back from her latest trip away and has decided to completely rethink what she wants from a car. She has decided and I agree that the days of "more power" are over and it's time to think differently about cars. She likes the smaller cars that are coming out that have sensible power plants like the new Suzuki Ignis, the new Swift due later this year and the rapidly developing EV market.

If she wants to go small but fun, I would very strongly recommend the Fiesta ST - small, light, can be economical if you aren't hooning it, and SO MUCH FUN!

She just won't touch Ford Fiesta or Focus and I will risk life and limb to suggest them.
