Any good comments or otherwise about Bosch batteries? They're imported from Aussie I believe and I noticed Tinkr.co.nz have reasonable  pricing and freight free for the one I'll need soon?

I'll be needing a new battery for the Touareg soon the battery is from new, 7 years old, so have started researching it. The car is an ex UK 2011 3.0TDI with the auto start-stop "feature" which means the battery needs to be made out of unobtainium and capable of starting the Queen Mary.

So looking up the specs, it can take a Varta H3 which sells in the UK for about 100 quid. Looking for a NZ supplier and the first one that comes up https://www.thebatterycellonline.co.nz/product/1570938 $503 !!!!! Holy hell.

I will keep looking...

I know! I seen it done though, wasn't too bad. Slide seat forward, remove 2 bolts slide seat back, remove 2 bolts then just tilt seat back and lean against the back seat no need to disconnect wiring harness...

I see AA have a battery for over $600, they're really looking after their members!

Partmaster have batteries with a 3.5 year warrantee at sharp prices.

My mum also got quoted $206 by AA when they were jump starting her car, but thought she'd check with me first. Partmaster retail on a NS40 equivalent (for corolla's and other <1800cc jappas) was $146, with another 25% off if you can wrangle a trade discount, so my mum's bill dropped from $206 to $107 and the additional bonus was a 6 month longer warranty.
