Bought one yesterday, paid the deposit and will pick it up towards the end of the week.

Yacht Blue, GTLine. 17000Kms on the clock

Some minor detailing to take car of, as well as WOF, full service and a interior clean

Well pleased and looking forward to picking it up.

Having not driven one for a while, the acceleration in sports mode is awesome.

Had a lot more time to play with the toys etc. Was opting for the Earth, but this felt a good buy considering it is used, but only 17000, looks brand new and still got the balance of the warranty etc

Is it considered rude to ask what you paid?

Pretty sure it's this one, listed at 90K.

Was very tempted to get it but got put off by so many KMs after one year, store said it was driven by one of the big bosses.

At 17000km it is barely warmed up. :-)

I'm sure you will enjoy driving it... And finding your way around all the toys!!

Enjoy!

since i don't hear any complaints about EV6 prices i assume the new pricing of 79,990 + ORC is just a typo and it's actually 79,990 inc ORC?

It appears some dealerships are offering at 78990 presumably to allow with the addition of ORC to bring the LR under the $80K rebate threshold which in my view would be sensible. The same dealership said if I ordered (with 1K deposit) it would not be available until July.

They split part of the ORC into a separate transaction at the one we went to, to keep the car invoice under 80K.

They also said if we want the optional grey paint (+$1500) they would put it on the second invoice for us.

Sounds a bit, ahem, fraudulent, to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve voiced my opinion of there being a cap at all, many times on the GZ EV forums. The only positive part of it is it ‘encourages’ manufacturers to have at least one model in their range under the cap.

To me it is pretty difficult to argue that the paint is an accessory rather than an integral part of the vehicle. It may be easier to provide you with a set of $2000 keys. Or $2000 floor mats. You would of course, buy these in advance of taking delivery of the car.

Since the traditional car dealer model is to purchase the vehicle from the OEM and then sell it to the customer at a marked up price, it would be interesting to know if they would sell it to you at the wholesale price and you pay them a commission for finding and delivering it.

It would all be moot if it was recognised that an EV is an EV in the goal of removing an ICE vehicle from the road, whether it costs $30000 or $300000.

I sent the following to Kia NZ re this issue and the claims on their web site...

Hi Folks
I believe your web site may need to be updated. It currently states that :
"- EV6 Air Standard Range and Long Range both qualify for a $8,625 rebate"
Unless the ORC is less than $10 I suggest this is no longer true for the RWD Long range at $79,990 +ORC.
Would hate for someone to think they were getting the $8K rebate and then find your info was wrong.

The reply I got from them was...

Our pricing is stated as MRP which stands for Maximum Retail Price. We would never state a Minimum Retail Price and it is up to our dealer network as to the final price that they sell our vehicles for.
Simply put, our dealers know our incentive structure and are free to sell our cars for whatever price that they see fit to sell them at.

Not sure that is exactly taking responsibility for the issue. :-) Perhaps 'May' qualify for a rebate might be a bit more accurate.

interesting! thanks for the heads up. so they are asking their dealers to absorb the cost ... and might end up costing some dealers 8 grand when customers don't get their rebate as promised!

Ordered some 3D All weather mats off EVGogo.

They are pretty good, but don't have a plastic disc to attach to the floor pins, the idea being they fit snug and don't move - they do!

They also shroud the LED lighting at the bottom of the centre console!

The carpet mats look good, but only because they are new.

Any ideas on other all weather mats for the EV6? I'd like to go see the OEM ones, but all the non-dealer suppliers are USA based.

cheers
