Embarrassed to say I found it. There’s a small barely noticeable indentation on the outside door handle! When you touch it, car locks.

When I park the car drivers side is close to a wall and darkish when I squeeze out, I normally just push the door closed. Never noticed it before as it looks like a design feature.

When I first got the car, used the fob button to lock and open it until someone told me that you don’t need to even have the key in your hand...in the bag was enough to open and close. Magic I thought and never took the key out of the bag again.

@gzt what do you mean by throttle. Last night came up the hill and turned it to Sport and it really made no difference in fact it was struggling. Do you mean I need to take foot off the gas before I dial to Sport? Thanks.

Other way round really. Take your foot off the gas anytime after pressing sport, then continue.

Btw, I saw in one of your other posts you're driving in eco mode. That's not necessary at all for fuel economy. Average driving normal mode is just fine.

Thanks that explains why it didn’t make a scrap of difference. I was flooring the gas pedal trying to make it push up the hill then turned it to Sport with pedal down. More stuff to remember, sigh.

This is such a learning curve. I thought Eco mode was just that, to conserve fuel. I did drive down to Lexus Wellington when I first got it to ask someone in the showroom to help show me a few things, but they said they were too busy. Made mental note to find another place to do my future servicing.

All of these operational details will be covered in the handbook.

Scott3:

I don't think I have ever come across a car that auto locks when you walk away with the key.

I had a car, that as well as lock itself would also wind the windows up as well. It caught a mechanic out once. Think he left keys in car, (think he left on car seat, as car would beep if in ignition and turned off) and I had to come in with spare ones.

Thanks. 756 pages...how complicated can it be. Had a quick glance and then all the cautions were making me nervous.
