Don't get me wrong, but in general, it's safer if you just go with the flow. Being the slower one among a group of fast-traveling cars increases the overall risk.

of course that situation cannot exist. if your slower you get left behind and no longer part of the group. the only way to be part of the group is to go at the same speed. 

 

i did see something years ago about having everyone travel at a consistent speed is safer. because there is no passing etc. except real world that doesn't really exist. everyone has different vehicles, some have to obey different speed limits, people have to slow down to turn off and of course there is always one who wants to be in front of everyone.

"Getting left behind" means being passed/overtaken by the others.
