The ride went well today, got a tad damp but 260ish bikes turned out raising $7500 for the family it was run for.

And johnr won one of the major spotprizes - a new set of tyres for his bike.

Anyone want to design a patch for on the back of our leather jackets? There were a few of these patches on our ride today

Hi all,
Have been a motorcyclist in the past, but I'm enjoying the cruise and convenience (& lack of speeding fines) of a scooter around Wellington. Have had an Aprilia 50cc for the past 3 years or so - loving the storage for stuff under the seat & keeping gloves in the glovebox in the front cowling (who'd have thought!). Have even been able to go out on jobs with a camera & a couple of lenses under the seat.
The speedo says it'll do about 90kmh in favourable conditions (tail wind) - but I suspect it's a bit optimistic. There is (or used to be) a  scooter group who would meet up at the Maranui Cafe in Lyall Bay - I may have to check them out - I don't think I'd be up for a blast over the Rimutakas!
I used to use a bluetooth head set under my helmet, set to auto-answer with a Motorola V6 Max phone, but now use a wired set of ear-buds with a microphone & my iPhone in my pocket - I have to receive calls manually tho'. Anyone using interesting tech on their two wheels? (I carry my MacBook Pro in the fibreglass case).

Cheers,
Mike

I ride a Honda CB250 down south. Been on my full for a few years now, but haven't found a bike I like enough to upgrade to. It's a bit hairy on the open road, but it's fuel economy is good enough to make a bigger bike rider weep.

Geeze Guys Im an old bugga and have had my Full license since 1974 35 odd years.

Early days rode scooters, Suzuki 185cc twin and more recently a 1980 Honda CB 400. There was a big gap in between however so you might say a Mid Life Crisis !!

However I got a desire for a change and bought the 2007 New Honda VT 750C Cruiser about 6 weeks ago and have already put 3500 kms on clock.

Joined up to Ulysses MC and the NZ Cruisers Group and have met some wonderful people and gone on some real cool rides.

Hmm, I'll check with the Mrs, but the ducati could do with a good ride.

I had an off a few weeks ago-injured my left elbow and left hip has a rather large bruise.
Yes I was going round a right hand bend and my rear wheel gave way.
Not too much damage to the bike luckily.

that sux, you should eat a racer, i hear that gives you the racers ability to "feel" when the wheel is about to let go.
