BTW, didn't see it mentioned here but the "No Nuance SW included" relates to Nuance Dragon Assistant. No big loss, probably.

Krishant007: I just received my laptop!!

Me too :)

Been doing a few tests on it.
Build quality is okay its better than my Acer V5 but not super premium I would say this sits around about the current envy range of laptops in terms of build quality there is a bit of flex at the top of my keyboard.
The display is very nice :)

Done some 3d mark tests:

Out of the box:

Nice. What modded GPU driver are you using for the 2nd test?

Ahh just unboxed it. Havent had time to power it on yet.. But I am so far very very impressed with the build of this laptop. Feels so slick and smooth (maybe its the ohhh shiny feeling). This laptop does not feel like an 800 dollar laptop at all. I will be powering it up tomorrow. But so far, I am quite happy with this purchase..

That's probably because it is closer to a $2000 laptop, so I think the build quality is up there with laptops in that price range. When I was in Harvey Norman I couldn't find any with a similar spec under 2000 and that was at their 'massive' sale pricing. So I don't thnk there is any doubt it was a great  deal.

The only thing that irks me about it right now is the right click on the trackpad, wish the area was a fair bit larger

Dell never seem to deliver on time.

I got an email on Saturday to let me know that my estimated delivery date is being pushed back to the end of this week (was today). Got an email on the 29th letting me know that the order was ready to be sent out from the factory, but hasn't moved since "Manufacturing Build Complete".

Mine was pushed back to the 10th from the 3rd. But it still is in the ship from factory stage, which it has been in for well over a week. I am guessing their system is just broken as it isn't accurate.

I actually really like the touchscreen on this laptop.. It has been handy so far.. Battery life was pretty decent at about 3 hours while I was doing some tasks on it.. I think you can get about 4 hours or a bit more with light usage.. The backlit keyboard is quite good. I like the key travel.. I agree with a previous post about the right click on the trackpad - the trackpad isnt centered on the computer. But thats nitpicking. I really like the brushed aluminum feel that the laptop has. It isnt as bulky as some of the 15 inch laptops I have had in the past.

I think anyone here who wants to use this laptop as their powerhouse, swap the HDD for an SSD. This laptop is for my sister so I am not the main one using it (i used it for 3 days while I was prepping it for her). If it was for me, I would spend 300 bucks and get a 512GB SSD (Crucial M100 512GB, pretty good reviews) and swap that out as the first thing I do. Than this thing would fly!!

Forgetting the price, this laptop as a whole is a pretty good machine - if someone wants a good desktop replacement laptop.

Mine arrived today! After the "delay" emails I received, it actually arrived on the original estimated delivery date! :)

Mine arrived this morning, even though my order still says "in transit".  It was estimated on the Dell site to arrive yesterday, but I can live with that ;-)

Opened the box and had a quick look, its a nice laptop, although it is a LOT bigger and heavier than my current Samsung Series 9, but it's also a lot more powerful.  Overall I am very pleased for the price I paid - it is a real desktop replacement.

Now to find a nice fast SSD!

Outstanding laptop - for the price.

Keyboard is a little on the tinny side. The Enter key is somewhat squishy.

Lovely screen. Build quality isn't that bad (keyboard aside). It's not great, but, certainly the same if not better than your typical sub-$1K laptop.
