I went to it yesterday.. Didnt see the RX100 (or any of the RX models on the floor). They did have HX60V for 400 something which was decent. They also had Canon SX50 (not sure if thats the exact model number) for about 280 or something. Other than that, nothing tickled me too much. I lolled at one of the sale prices on the Sony MDR10 RBT headphones (i have been waiting for these to come on specials). They were at $160. And this morning, I saw that NL have discounted them by 50% (down to 150) on their website. So their super specials at ASB showgrounds is more expensive than their own prices on their website.

Ya I was hoping that it might be there.. Been looking at that for quite some time actually!! it is a bloody awesome camera.. They did have MacBook Pro Retina for 1499 which was not too bad!! They also had the Netgear R7000 routers at 239 bucks which is quite a decent price for them. I didnt look at TVs worth more than 2k. But there were a couple of Panasonic that caught my eye.. Then again, I have seen them for similar prices sometime or another this year.

yeah i have been looking at the rx100 series mark 2 version , at expert info, with 2 yr warranty its 850$.

Its a tad bit expensive but its SO good.

I just hoped if it was available and NL and if i could get a deal.

Even JB doesnt have it , very strange.

You can pick it up from the Sony store for 799 or 899 (cant remember what the price drop was). Check out the sony store in sylvia park.. If you are traveling, then they also have GST free as well which helps.. My mate bought the RX100ii last year and it has really really good results!! I was looking at the RX100iii but no one except sony stocks them.

Anyways back on this sale.. NL did have the Panasonic FT25 (waterproof) camera for $175 which is the cheapest I have seen it at this year.

Got there at 9.00 am today.   Lots of people there and plenty taking out boxes of TVs and the like.  Was really tempted to buy the 2014 5"  Moto G phone for $199 .  The lack of LTE prevented me..  Must say those 4LK TVs sure look nice..

Regards,

Gutted I missed a cheap Samsung Galaxy S3 again; $189 would have been even better than the $200 JB Hifi deal I missed a couple of weeks ago! I shall persevere.. my S2 is starting to feel old.

Luckily the last $199 Moto G phone sold just as I was asking to buy one, so now I still have some money.

This is a pretty cool bargain forum, but are there any sites like OzBargain in NZ? I just got here!

They have been talking over the past about starting one up here and have finally got around to it.
Pretty much brand new and in beta testing mode.

GeekGuy and GeekZone community,

First of all, I'd like to thank you for posting a link to our website in this thread.

I will start by introducing myself, and then a bit about ChoiceCheapies and what we want to achieve.

My name is Tony (Shaw) and I am an administrator of the aforementioned website: ChoiceCheapies.

I have been a user of GeekZone myself for sometime, however not an active user, and when a fellow administrator of our website brought to my attention that a significant amount of traffic was coming from a post here, I felt obliged to acknowledge this and to provide some additional information.

ChoiceCheapies was born out of a number of Kiwi users of the sister website OzBargain requesting a website of our own. My involvement actually dates back a number of years, when I had moved back from Australia, and was myself seeking a community based bargain hunting website that was geographically relevant. Unfortunately there were none that fit the bill that had the same community engagement as OzBargain.

The name comes from the colloquialism, Choice, and the ideal, Cheapies. Which I felt merged a catchy Kiwi phrase and the idea that a lot of us want to save a few dollars, and a little alliteration for good measure. This opinion was shared throughout those in initial discussions, which were as recent as last month!

Now, to what we want to achieve.

As many of you may be aware, OzBargain is the top bargain hunting community in Australia, and the goal with ChoiceCheapies is to bring that community spirit to New Zealand. This in turns forces retailers to react, and allows for the power of numbers to have a greater say over how and what we can all save money on. Obviously for that, we need a solid user base, which is the reason for my acknowledgement of what is essentially a promotion of our website based on very little information, by GeekGuy above.

Now, I wanted to add in something that has not been made public yet, starting next month we will be offering a monthly bonus to the three users who post the most popular bargains to the community, these will be monetary bonuses to the value of 1 * $50, 1 * $25, and 1 * $10, this is a system that has worked very well on OzBargain for a long time.

However if you are visiting our website, please keep in mind that it is a beta version, and while the platform is solid, the layout and visuals are likely to change at any time, as work to get the look and feel more "Kiwi" is underway.

If there are questions, complains, or anything else, please feel free to pm myself, and I will provide as much information as I can.

Regards,

Tony.
