Ive ordered their 5 pack of hdmi cables for $25 since more of those are always handy, and I have a second HDMI switch coming so I can stop cable swapping so will need a few for that.

Will be intesting to see how long and how good the cables are.

Thanks, only saw this thread now, and just upgraded to needing a lightning cable (!)

Should be great to have a spare at work and leave the other at home....
Will see how you all go before connecting my 'new' phone through it though :D

I got one and it works fine. The wire is thinner, and the metal part on the plug looks a bit lower spec. Also a little harder to push in, but it seems ok. Probably wouldn't use it for charging a higher wattage device though/

I think I'll pass on this, Paid $1300 for this, I think I'll just stick to the genuine article for charging the beastie.

I just tried my old cable I had at work for charging my iPad mini before the wife took it, and it connects, but won't charge, probably not enough current available.
Odd, my old 4S would charge through the same port.

Many shops sell cloned cables, and I have seen some for $20 in NZ stores. I don't think they would be much different to these ones, it is only a cable after all. I have however had problems with some cahrgers. I have a belkin cahrger, and when my iphone is plugged in, it gets all laggy.

About 3 weeks. I got mine and it works well. Probably as good as any other close cable that stores sell for $10-20. Noticed this company advertises in one of the advertising flyers you get through the letter box, so not sure if they have some form of NZ presence.

My 5 pack of HDMI cables took about 2 and a half weeks to get to me from wherever they come from.

I've been using my Lightning cable for a month and seems absolutely fine! I've used with a wall charger and external battery on my 5s with no issues at all. I know it's a cheap fake product, but I don't really see how it would damage the phone significantly.
