The Black Friday special was probably setup to differentiate the 100 that could sell at $130 ONLINE ONLY , from the normal stock they had in the chain. Chances are LG help fund the special agreed to give rebates on 100 units only.


I'd say you were right, LG does have a track record of similar promos.  And given the recent announcement of the Urbane model, a stock-dump promo would fit nicely.

So, with another bunch of geekzoners about to receive these, I'd just like to say that if for any reason any of you decide not to keep your G Watch R, please PM a brother with an offer before dumping it onto Trademe?

I'd definitely be keen to talk turkey on a deal with anyone who finds that it doesn't fit, or is unsuitable for whatever reason!

I see in other threads that the tempered glass protectors are getting good comments, more so than traditional plastic-based screen protectors.
I hasten to add that I haven't purchased one, but I do plan to.

For those that have their orders cancelled, have you been contacted by WHS to push through with the order?
Aside from the cancellation notice, I haven't received anything from them.
I talked to their support line just now and was told I should have received an email yesterday to reprocess the order.

I had a call from WHS yesterday afternoon at about 4:30pm to get my credit card details again as the refund had already been processed.    Good chance they just didn't get through the number of people on the list before the end of the day, so hopefully you get a call soon.

I know someone who received an email saying they will re-process the order again and to provide them the Credit Card number and expiry over email. I believe he refused to do that and said he can pickup from a store and pay rather than sending a email with CC details. 

About my order - I have opted to Click and Collect and the tracking number was given. I called the store and they said the order was been asked to be cancelled and a RMA issued. 0800 number support says they have no idea why it was cancelled and promised to get back to me yesterday and nothing so far. 

No email so far. 

Overall - there is poor communication between staff on what is happening. I had to call 3 times and I am still unsure where my watch is. Money is taken from my CC and that RMA (assuming it is refund) is not showing up yet.

Yes. Had a phone call yesterday afternoon. Would they not check your order number for you when you were on the phone and sort it out there and then? It's all tied to that original order number. They'd be able to tell you if the credit had already been processed or not and take card details if necessary to reprocess it for you. Might be worth another call?

If they have refunded your card already, it can take up to five working days for it to show up, even on debit cards.

Here's the text of the email I received (slightly snipped).

On Friday 13 February we advertised LG G Watch R at $130. This was an incredible low price and the watch sold out in a very short time – faster than our system could keep up with counting the stock down. We have, this morning, processed your refund and this will not have fully gone through the banking system.  However we have since been able to secure a further, very limited supply from our supplier in order to honour our advert.  If you wish to repurchase this item please advise us by replying to this email or ringing 0800 222 246 asap, and we will arrange the repurchase. Because of the limited supply available to us, we will be supplying in strict accordance to 1 unit per customer to ensure that we supply at least 1 to every customer who purchased in good faith. We will need to take a manual payment from you regarding this repurchase and therefore please complete your details below:  Name on Credit Card:  Card Number:  Expiry Date:  We would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you.


I rang yesterday and quoted my order number and the CSR took my CC details and reprocessed the order.
He did originally ask that I reply to the email with my CC details which I declined to do so he did it on the phone. Very painless. My wife who also ordered one just replied to the email asking for their secure site to provide her CC details on. Asking for CC details to be provided in an email is a very insecure practice that should not have been requested in my opinion.

I've had no communications, my order is still 'In Process' and the last official communication I've had from TWS is that my order is cancelled.
I sent a complaint through and have heard nothing. Big black hole so far :-)
