mattwnz: The JB hi fi sale looks a non event from the items they showed on TV. $398 for the sony amp, which last year they had in their sale for $290. I picked one up last year at that price.

Umm you realize it's not the same stock as from then and in the the meantime the NZD vs USD Exchange rate is about 20c different? It's still a great deal.

I don't think it has affected the RRP much though, as I recall it was about the same RRP last year. The NZ dollar has recovered somewhat and is only 9cents lower than it was this time last year. Also it is an older model this year, been out for nearly 2 years, so probably due for replacement. I wouldn't regard it as a great amp. Feels cheaply built with cheap feeling dials, and controls aren't that intuitive, but good value for $300, but wouldn't pay more for it.

WHS have a chair on special, but even with click and collect it shows a $50 shipping/handling fee. I am not sure that's legal right?
Contemplating buying it and arguing about it at collection or so ?

Heh yes, and the Pope is a "little" Catholic :)

You might find something in that price range, but I'd be frightened to know what quality it is.

I have a Sony 13" Notebook which is i7, 6GB Memory, with 4x64GB SSD's in a raid 0, and dual graphics cards weighing 1.4KG you are welcome to for $650!

Well that will only make them 25% more expensive than anywhere else after that then!

Try Warehouse Stationery for $899:

Edit:
Personally, I would prefer to get better screen resolution than 1366x768.

This looks like more complete specs:
