Hi

my kids favorite sony klv-40s550a does not take HDMI signal anymore somehow. searched internet but only found inly one person asked a question. so it seems not a common problem.

all the osd works fine just cant display any digital / d-sub signal. analog tv shows static screen so the tuner seems working. (its not dtv)

need to buy replacement today before the school holiday begins.

can anyone suggest any model sub $600 range? need 1080p with 40" plus screen.

cheers

Shin

Common sense is not as common as you think.

General consensus is that Veon is reliable, with pretty bad audio

fair assessment based on the 39 inch full hd veon i have had for a couple of years now.

picture is fine as a 2nd tv/monitor in the study - sound i have taken care of via an amp and decent speakers

Don't have either, but its swings and roundabouts -

Panasonic, good brand, likely decent picture but (presumably) only 1 year guarantee, only 2 HDMI ports

Veon , reasonable picture quality, bad sound but 3 year warranty and 3 HDMI ports.

Thanks everyone.

Would it worth drop by DSE Albany for any fire-sale? Not a good idea? Already gone most?

The deals at the moment don't look great in your price bracket.

Last week you could get a Sony 40" for $449.

Noel Leeming had a LG 43" for $487. The same TV is now $586.01 at JB, still not a terrible deal.

I got this for $400 from DSE during their December clearance. It was a display TV, absolutely nothing wrong with it though.

Considering how close they are to closing, their display TVs must be pretty cheap. Might be worth a gamble if the price is right.

was in the lower hutt one on Thursday with cash in hand. No bargains for TV's. Although they had 50% off breville appliances. DSE sticker prices were pretty inflated though
